If you are using the compressed version you absolutely need the patch I provide here, or it will not work.
The other downloads are technically playable without the patch, but you will not have log messages, making it harder to know what you're missing later.
The patch is pretty small and easy to use, so I would recommend just getting it.
(You just extract it into the game folder making sure it overwrites files, no special patching process or something like that.)

This patch fixes the log messages and updates the compressed version to the current game version.

The virus thing is just a false flag by the scam AV MaxSecure.

I know I'm not supposed to do that, but what else am I supposed to do for people having to deal with complete blocks on mobile?

so I guess it's new game in eng or load an old save and it's still in japanese???

I downloaded the 2.0 version here(not compressed) and then I even downloaded the log fix..
I loaded an old save I had and it's all in japanese.. the log and the dialog..

..no I'm wrong it's the log and the first sleep and wake up messages that are in japanese.. very strange..
..guess that means they are all stored in the save file

I tried the compressed version and game fails to load using this patch even with Locale Emulator. Without the patch loads but is in japanese.

Does the uncompressed version work for you?

I've never tried the compressed version, yet, and the patch was not made for it.

I haven't tried the uncompressed version. I figured I will try the compressed version first to see ho the MTL is but it is all in Japanese.

I think there's been some miscommunication, also from the person who posted that.
The compressed version apparently has nothing to do with my translated version. It's a compressed version of the original Japanese game. And also a different game version even though both are called v2.0.

I've just tested it on my end and it is not compatible with my translation, because, among other things, the IconSet is missing.

I will edit the opening post to make things clear.
