I'm glad you're letting the criticism roll over you. And I'm glad you're doing your own project on your own time. When it comes down to it, the guiding hand behind influencing is solely yours, although I bet most of us want it to be a great game!

Keep at it, looking to see the next incarnation blow this one out of the water! (and maybe decrease those load times a bit)

Although on the negative side. Initiating sex still crashes the game with renpy errors.

Complaints are usually louder than compliments and maybe that's why you're under the impression that this version might have been a failure, but it hasn't even been released yet. It's under Patreon test phase to go for public later (only officially, because in practice it has already become public). The AI is on the first steps and it will work. Just be patient. Also the server is comming and the use of AI will become a lot easier. And besides, AI is not necessary to play the game. Influencing came all this way without AI, and now AI is just a plus for anyone who wants to use this tool. The Vanilla game still working and being produced as always. Nothing changed.

And please don't take anything I'm saying in a rude tone. If you've heard me speaking anywhere, you'll know I'm not. I'm really just trying to explain how things work for me and Influencing development.

Dude you need to fix your fucking character customization. Chars are either anorexic or mobidly obese. THis is the most consistent issue with your game straight up, if this was fixed i'd really like this game.

I started playing at 16.3 - I liked the game, I don't speak English and I still don't understand exactly how to play, but it's damn interesting, you can throw ideas and other things for hours, but you don't want to, "the author knows better."
The way I found the versions of the game, I conclude that the game is distributed almost for free, I would support it with a "penny", but this is impossible. Patreon doesn't work for me.
I wanted to write about a couple of things - the RollBack function is enabled by default, and it does not turn off, RollBack doesn't bother me.
How do the characters interact? Do I have to wait/waste time? Unkown girl-Barbie came up to my Boy and began to conduct a dialogue, I did not understand how it happened, but since then no one has been talking to me.
I've put aside other games, and I'm playing yours.

While there IS a chance of some NPC introducing itself - or offering money for sex - to you at random*, in general interaction requires you to click on a NPC of your choice, then on the "introduce yourself" and from there to pick the chat actions of your preference and so on.


*If one desires, it is possible to disable or adjust the random chance of happening from this and a number of random interactions by going to the Help Menu (the question mark in the top right corner) and then opening "Labels Config".

You know you can change the genetic distribiution when starting a new game, right?

Rollback was normally not in the game due to obvious issues that it could cause, however due to the high amount of requests from players Crow added it in and warned players about the issues that it may cause. You can always disable it in "preferences" if you want to and I'd highly suggest you to do it.

I wrote that there is a function that I do not use, but it does not turn off. After switching off, it works again. That's all I wanted to write about this function.

Hi, I haven't read the whole thread, but I just wanted to say that I found this game a few days ago and it is one of my favourites. I do not use patreon, but I would have bought it on itch.io to support the Dev. I don't see any possibility to buy it there.

I just asked Crow about this. The reason why he didn't put v17 onto itch.io yet is because he doesn't feel comfortable selling the patreon version as those are usually early releases which he feels are "still broken". The whole point of early patreon release is to let people have earlier access at the cost of having them go through the early bugs hence why v17.1 and .2 were quite broken. 17.3 is already much better, especially in the performance aspect as I just tested it but still not ready for a public release.

I hope nothing I said came off as offensive. Maybe I'm just jaded because I've seen so many potentially awesome games get killed by going off in a side-direction and dead-ending.

I'm glad you're still feeling good about everything! I really hope the game does continue progressing. It scratches a very specific cucky itch that I have... lol. I love the concept of the AI thing, I just worry that AI in general isn't advanced enough for your needs.

Just a side note, this latest update has actually pushed Crow to hit over 1000$ on Patreon which has been his goal for years. This game is far from being dead :)

I am liking the new changes and looks like several of the issues I was seeing have been fixed in 17.3. I did find a couple remaining issues.

The cheat buttons to maximize stats and pleasure are missing from the new sex scene UI.

and how exactly does this fix the issue? if you go up one size from skinny you get fucking morbidly obese when you create a char, it's awful design.

Ye, i know crow lurks around sometimes, idk if it was reported, but scenes during sex break something in game and keep sending error messages, works fine if you mass click ignore.

I just started playing 3 days ago and like it very much. In these 3 days I learn about how the game works and have created 3 characters and restart the game from scratch more than 3 times.
I first thought as a professor, I am only in charge of one class, the one the director showed me.
When I find out I can give a surprise test in other classrooms and when other students say they looked forward to me teaching them, I got suspicious.
I restart the game and realised that the director says I am responsible for the development of 4 classes… my bad for skimming through the dialogues and my eyesight.
Next, I learn how the city generates and how to set up the genes to get what I want in the city.
After a few restarts, I now know how to get what I want in this game.
I now know what to do with the weekly work points I get as a professor beside earning the bonus.
I now know how to make stubborn NPC succumb to my will.
I learn not to add all the phone numbers of the NPC just because I want to look at their information. They get messy, only adds they ones you are interested in.
The same goes for friend points and loves points. If you are not interested in them, don’t be curious about personal stuff. If not when you flirt with the one you are interested in public, these NPC who has some love point all became jealous…
Since I barely got past the first week, there are bound to be new stuff for me to discover yet.
I did not know how slow the game was before version 172 since I never tried them, but as Renpy game, the response time after each dialogue is indeed a bit slower.
The animations are acceptable even though they have the same faces but has different skin and eye colour and hair style.
It would be nicer if the animations are done by rigging the characters we see on the screen, making them move instead as they are very good looking, but I know nothing of animation and not sure how tough this will be.
As for genetics, I hope that beard can be added to city generating process so i can choose to let them appear or not. I hate beards…
As to Mary Ann… seeing her getting to my prey upsets me. Even though I have setup the city to let NPC fuck each other, I cannot tolerate a bigger shark than myself in the water LOL.
I have even resort to suggesting to her to stop cheating whenever I saw her. Not sure if that will worked, but I have seen less of her in action these 2 days.
Well, that is my thought for version 172. I like this game, and for these 3 days I have reduced my sleeping time for it too much…
It is great that you are making this game for your pleasure. You will not last long and soon give this game up if you keep catering only for the pleasures of others.
PS: I have tried the AI yet... so no comment on that. And I am apologise for posting this messy jumble of words.
