The best thing you can do is max out your charisma stat and save and restart the conversations until you get it right. What I don't know is how to make her your girlfriend, or if that's even implemented. I'm not sure if it's just through love dialogue or something else.

I'll be honest; I maxed all my stats right away from the character creation using Cheat Engine because holy molly, the grind and the time you need to get a girl is a little too much, like, if I tried to rizz up a girl irl it may be easier. What is surprising is how even after maxing the stats, is still kinda hard.
Getting your way with the squid girls is kinda easy if you are pushy, what is really difficulty is doing it after they like you enough to avoid getting hate points, because they can have mood changes and also asking for interactions that can't be performed. This is legit a good game, just needs balance.

Nope, you still get hate points even if you max out charisma and all sexual skills. Same as when girls like you, are your lovers, dwb, girlfriend, married. Hate points rack up fast with them with lewd stuff, and also they get reason back very quickly when you work so hard to bring it to 0.
Not to mention your sex skills only rise when you give the girl more than one orgasm with the body part you use, which might as well be impossible if they're too low even if you find and keep hitting her sweet spot.

I could sworn that I had zero hate points multiple times, but what I don't know if is because I did something else afterwards (?, as in maybe some non-sexual actions remove hate points after sex, I'll take a look next time, maybe I am tripping.

You can have one girl become your girlfriend by reaching the Lover status. First you need to get the Dependent status by exhausting all Romance special conversations, after that you can confess and if she accepts you become lovers. There is a chance she refuses based on her mood, stats and any of the voodoo Takuda coded in for each girl but you can keep trying at a cost of minor Hate increases per failed attempt. Confessing during sex or after the girl has her Reason completely lowered seems to increase the success rate massively.
You can only have one lover per playthrough, at least currently.
But then is that considered the "girlfriend" status? I ask because in the menu when you save, it says that your "girlfriend" status is zero, because I've already reached the "lover" status. That's why I'm asking if there's a difference or if it's implemented, since the difference between the two isn't reflected as such.
