News 20.12.2024
Heya everyone!
Another development period is behind us and now we’re very close to releasing the Christmas themed update. This news edition will be on a shorter side just to keep you updated on the current developments while we’re actively working on the upcoming release!
First of all, an art-preview (available in the next post). This time it’s the pre-final version for the Slytherin Common Room art. We’ve already teased a work-in-progress version at the end of November, and now the art is close to being finished.
Next, a couple of words about the current status. Most of the time during the last ten days was spent on wrapping up and polishing the upcoming Christmas-themed update slated for release on 24th of December. It’s a funny and juicy story involving several students and one greedy elf. It also has a small themed addition to one of the fullscreen scenes.
Apart from that we’ve been focusing on the most annoying and reported bugs. As a result, a couple of them were fixed and the next release will include those fixes. Among some of the bugs that were squished are the following:
Incorrect logic regarding the use of ethanol on an unlit fireplace in Act 1 Chapter 2.
Game crashing when trying to level up the abilities in the old plot, such as Fervor.
Various tooltips not showing correctly.
And different minor issues and errors, like typos and other bugs.
In addition, another polaroid photo has been finished by the animator and it’s already inserted into the game, making it four in total. The next one is in the works as well, which depicts a certain Slytherin witch beloved by many
0.12A is also underway. As it was mentioned previously, we’ve set a hard deadline on 15th of December for the texts for the first half of the patch, and now they are in post-production phase, which means they are being translated and soon-to-be edited. The aforementioned half, which is Chapter 2 in Act 2, ended up being around 250 Google docs pages, including comments and other directions for the insertion to the game. The second half, which is Chapter 3 in Act 2, is currently being written by three people. It’ll be a small pause around New Year for people to take vacations and recharge their batteries, the work will continue in the first half of January.
That’s all for now, folks! We deeply appreciate your continued support—whether it’s through donations or feedback, it means the world to us. Thank you so much!
The work continues and now we’ll just need to make sure it goes all the way through to the release. In the meantime, you’ll hear from us again very shortly when the next seasonal update is out. Until then, take care and enjoy life. And don’t forget to vote for Miss Hogwarts!

And now it’s time for a poll.
What do you think about the format of short updates where we share the key highlights of development? Or would you prefer more detailed and in-depth posts?
1. I’d like shorter, more focused updates with key info about development and plans.
2. The current format works fine, but I wouldn’t mind some tweaks.
3. I’m not too concerned about the format as long as the updates come out regularly.
4. I just want to see the results
