When a game does not progress much, and breaks older saves, I'd use that and compare the last and current versions of the game with diff --brief or rsync -auin to see where the real differences and novelties are, and if it's worth playing the update at all.
For this game, I'd say wait one or two more years, feed the existing images and screenshots to an AI with a vague plot, and you'll get a full game within a day!
What's funny is I actually don't hate the developments in this last update. If it was that but with any sort of regularity? Sure, fine, whatever.

I think I found a bug, I'm in chapter 1-4 and I have a quest that requires flying out the window with the broom, the problem is that the window is bugged and it won't open. The option to open the window doesn't appear and if I select the broom and settle in the window, a dialog appears that you can't exit a closed window, but as I said before, the window won't open.

People sure love throwing shit at things just for fun. I have many complains but overall it's a good game anyway. Awkward progression, too many minigames, slow development, new saves every update. Yea, it's not perfect but in many other aspects it's unique and well made. We have very few adult games of this scale and quality in general, even less in slow burn department so having it abandoned would be bad for the community. I'm happy it's still in active development, not like it cost me anything to check progress time to time. It's getting to the point where it's worth playing it all over again for me. Not supporting this game like 99% of those who left infuriated messages here. What else is there to play similar to this? Bunch of "very promising" meet and fuck AI generated 10min long games? Or some very old games that are developed in a similar manner? Did you hear the rattle? Dr.Bones got revived again by some nasty necromancy. Go check progress he is making. My opinion on his games is about the same, development is better than abandoned.

I saw it in the [Lastest updates] section and though to myself: just how the hell this game has 9 years and still be in a 0.12 alpha version?
anyways lots of reworks is answer, there might be another looming in future.

If you want to praise the game go right ahead, nobody is stopping you. Others may feel very differently and nobody is stopping them either.
That said, people aren't bitching cause the game has no redeeming qualities. They're annoyed that it's in a shit state for 9 years of development.
