I'd say incest fanboy is present in 99% of games. It's not my thing to fuck the mother or grandmother, but it's something that happens all the time. But this VN hinted at that, with the scenes of the mother, spying on her, kissing her, going to sleep in her bed...

yeah I made a backup save at the point haha. tbh I hope the step bro stuff keeps coming up once in awhile it was great. Initially I was a little disappointed in the fact that the cliffhanger was solved right away as I wanted some juicy drama to come from it first. However the moment the step bro come up I was like okay this is way better.

Yes, you can say it's subjective, like most things. Because you might think the MC isn't even you, because maybe it's someone else's dick... haha, it depends on how you look at it.
What I'm saying is that the game was meant to develop a loving relationship with the mother, and there were many things that indicated this.

Nothing in the game has indicated there would be anything more than a mother/son relationship with Emily. He sees her naked and comments it's wrong. If they share a bed and he wakes up groping her tit, he is disgusted. When they kiss on the lips, the MC is embarrassed and the second time is because he's overcome with emotion at his gift, not because he wants to tap it.
NTR by definition is the protagonists sexual partner being involved in consensual or non-consensual infidelity. So no, it's not subjective that Emily getting dicked down by John is NOT NTR, it's objectively not.

It's a weird complaint, anyway. Even if one thought that was NTR, you can legitimately stop Emily from having sex with John. So, if you think having the player's mom have sex is cucking the player, then it's on you if she does so.

As MC's mom is not an LI or pursuable in any way, is it really NTR? I get so confused with what does and doesn't qualify as that tag anymore; the definition doesn't always match where it is and isn't used. Some backers may have wanted to see Emily not be alone and forlorn anymore, and if you allow her to date John this may have been a way she allowed Emily to show she's getting back out into romance?
Melissa is expected to be a possible LI, so I would be surprised if she's fantasizing about the MC (on her path) she'd go out and be with another character in the game.
If you don't like the scene then skip it; or tell Emily you'd rather she didn't date John (she'll not date him, if you have enough Emily points).
Funny how one optional, and completely skippable scene completely ruins a game, but you do you.
