Hard to keep it all straight even with a flowchart. Probably why I've picked this up and dropped it a couple times.

I agree. While the game in overall is game, there are so many routes and somehow all the characters know each other. It is hard to be with more than 2 girls without a sudden drama. I am hoping for the game to be finish property and I start the game.

I like to call it the "Fuck around and find out" mechanic. It's one of the reasons I've supported the game for so many years.

I roll my eyes everytime I play a game where I can cheat on someone or date multiple people and all the girls accept it or encourage it. It removes any weight from your actions and most weight from a Li's believability. I want characters to feel hurt, jealous or anger if I do something that's fucked up.

It's also why I'm not a fan of throuples in games. How can I imagine a deep relationship with Elena if I can just stack Layla on top of her and fuck them both? It takes away meaningful agency in the story. Why would you break Layla's heart if she just gave you around of applause for fucking her friend?

It's why I hold almost every Li in this game in high regard. ( besides the crazy good female dialogue writing )



Why would I need to bother making so many route saves if nothing actually mattered? I love mixing and matching all of my routes and they ALL feel vastly different from one another.

Sure. There's "fuck around and find out cheater" for the obvious scumbag choices and then there's "everyone is related somehow and you didn't know you're a bad person". Soap opera writing. To be completely fair it IS in the name "Intertwined". IRL you could work through these things, but in game land you get lock ins and off ramps. Then you have to troubleshoot for every particular variable of why a certain scene didn't play or what different variations there are to get the specific content you want.

What has happened in the game that wouldn't happen the same way IRL? If this was IRL and you find out you are dating two sisters then you'd have to break up with one of them for the other one to be happy, if you try carrying on with both of them and they find out then you're fucked (and not in the good way) just like in this game. Same as if you were dating two best friends. Even if you didn't know the relationship between the girls beforehand you'd have to find an "off ramp" IRL too.

I get that we're used to games where there are no consequences to dating multiple girls for at least a certain period of time regardless of relation and then you get a clear choice over which girl you continue with and she won't care about who else you dated, or games where getting with one girl automatically causes you to not be able to pursue another girl on the same run, but this game aims for realism.

And yes Nyx does overdo the relationship dynamics and MC's ignorance of them to artificially raise the drama, however there is always a way out when you find out that two girls you are pursuing have a relationship (whether familial or friendship) which would cause problem when they find out about each other. For instance if you continue the Lexi relationship and trying to build the Layla relationship after the pizza lunch scene when you find out they are sisters, that's on you not on Nyx, you are given clear chances to end either relationship before they turn up at your door.

If you aren't familiar with the game the arbitray point system can be punishing.

You missed a scene because you didn't look at her tits in one moment, missing out on points, but you grabbed her ass in another and lost some.
