That's what I'm saying all the time. It doesn't matter how long release times are. The only thing that matters is content, content, content, and content. Nyx uses her renders in scenes in more than just one screen. Not like Summer Heat where you get a new picture every time you press the button or a key. Can you imagine how much time of gameplay we'll get? Personally I'll take a game with a few hours gameplay every 8-10 months always over a monthly release with just half an hour.

Yeah usually I like to replay my favorites to make an update last but when a update is this beefy it's worth the wait and only worth a replay for fun especially when it's alot of content. Knowing how slow I am probably take me almost an entire day to play haha

I think next month. considering Nyx said she should be done with the final scenes this week and just basically has to do touch up and coding and testing

This will probably come out sooner, DPC seems to have a longer to-do list compared to Nyx.

I’ve noticed that Nyx usually finishes episodes faster, but they generally take around 9 to 12 months. It makes sense, considering there are more and more branching paths as the story progresses. Personally, I think they should take all the time they need.

Your gut feeling betrays you. This update is the one with the longest waiting time since the start of this game. The first release was 06/2020. Since then we got 14 updates (including 0.x.5 releases). The longest time between releases was 7 months. She's really fast, yet it doesn't feels like it because of our impatience.

Now that you mention it, that’s true. For me, the time between episodes goes by pretty quickly. There’s definitely a bit of impatience, probably like everyone else, because of how much we’re looking forward to it. But I’d much rather wait and get the best work possible.

For the wait is only painful the first few months after playing an update then I start to not think about the game so much anymore

For me, this type of game with a great story feels a lot like a TV series. You finish a season, and then you’re left with a few days of not knowing what to do or watch XD

I don't know if I misunderstood, but she said that only the 3D scenes in Daz are ready; rendering is still pending. Depending on how many renders she completes per day, it could take more than a month to do 7,000.

EDIT: Reading it again, it's just a few renders that she will redo.

Finished the last Alexis scene for this update, also finished the first of the 2 scenes for Layla. Only 2 scenes left to do. Both scenes will be very short and I expect to finish all scenes/renders this week. I might have to redo a few, but I know more once I start with the post-render work. There are a few scenes I want to "redo" or rather improve but I'll leave that for another time.

Once all renders are done, I start with the post-render process. Meaning fixing some inconsistencies like clothes that are clipping into the skin, lighting,...

The total renders (Everything included) is over 7000. So, I don't know how long that will take me.
At the same time, I will start coding everything, there's a lot of script and with all the different paths, it will also take some time. Adding some sound files, main menu song,...

Then there's the spelling check, also correcting some mistakes in previous episodes. And testing all the routes, of course. Still quite some stuff to do.

About the remake of episode 3. I'm not completely done yet with that and I'm not sure if I'm able to finish before I'm done with episode 13. Episode 3 consists of 2 days, so I'll probably only add the first day since that one is finished. The second day will be for the next update.

Once I have a better idea of how long it will take to finish everything, I'll give an ETA. The only thing I'll say is it will be released before GTA 6!

Man the progress with Elena is being held back a lot... The buildup to the eventual union should have started now...

she had her big scenes two updates ago. She'll still have some content as in the resolution(?) of the Elena fiasco if you went that way. We'll get more of Erynn, Val (I think), Cara/Nikki. Those should be the bigger ones. Maybe some others show up for a short scene. Oh of course and the resolution of the cliffhanger. Next update is back to school so I'd imagine we'll get some very interesting Layla/Elena content there.

Pound for pound Nyx beats DPC I'd imagine. I haven't done the math, but she isn't bogged down with minigames, freeroams, 60 fps animations etc., so we get a higher number of meaningful renders instead. I much prefer this.

I did the Maths at the start of the year in an off-topic thread. As we don't have render numbers for eps 8, 9 and 10 for this game it did require some guesswork:

So if we assume a rising scale from the 1000 for ep 7 to 3500 for ep 11 she probably averaged 2500 for those 4 eps so 10k altogether, while in the longer timeframe (6 months longer) DPC had three full 5k eps + interlude (less than 1k renders for interlude) and Digi B has 3 updates of 5k in a slightly longer time (3 months longer). Part time dev certainly appears to be outworking the full time devs with better rigs.

That's why I give more props to Nyx. One pc and a full time job, while homie looks to enhance beer bottles in order to inflate the development.

Over 7k renders! Damn Nyx has been working hard on this. As much as I would love to see this release next month, I wouldn't blame her if she decides to take a break over Christmas and release it in the new year.
