We are all curious but don't know yet exactly what happened. My theory is that he most likely threatened her but she is afraid of telling the MC, because she knows he may go do something stupid. Not sure where you got influential from, there have been links teased between her and Ximena but nothing solid yet.

From how she behaved at school with the MC we can see that the encounter made her somewhat scared... but while scary it wasn't enough for her to give in completely and cut herself off from the MC.
I don't think he has anything to blackmail her with, just threats...
She's afraid of telling MC about it, so she probably worries he'll make it worst... or get hurt trying to solve it.
Still i think the full story will come out pretty soon(given that we are getting rid of the guy in the next 2/3 updates
As for influential Justaphase is right that we have nothing on her family.
Just speculation from us that she's related to Ximena the actress in someway...
Her apartment does look expensive and seem to be located mid town... so they aren't poor(Elena and Darryl are the only ones we've seen signs of being poor).
But they weren't influential enough to get the guys that messed with her kicked out of the previous school, Val was the one that ended up moving.

I just can't wrap my head around this. With all the visual novels where the developer has chosen to release their work on Steam, I see a common thread. They release it as Season 1, Season 2, and so on. They shamelessly compete to see who can create the best cliffhanger, even though it's obvious to any halfway sane person that the story isn't over!
Well yeah I mean if Nyx were to end an episode as "end of Season 1" then work on Season 2, she could put the first season on Steam but with how often the game/saves get broken or reworked that wouldn't really work here I guess. Perhaps she will once the game is fully complete and she's happy with it. But that's a long way off I would imagine.
Yeah, as a consumer I would love a finished product more
