as for the Erynn crush i once more must call bullshit or people must believe Erynn to be a pedophile!
she can not have sexual interest in a little child last time she saw him he was a 13 year old pimpled puberty little dork!

she as no claim on the MC love life whatsoever, she can claim dibs or brotherly love or old childhood friends (NO NOT LIKE THAT FFS!), she can even be bothered Lexxi lied to her, but considering her obcessive behavior she did the best she could to scoop in some time before Erynn went all Erynn on him and smother him without letting the poor dude breath!

If Erynn was a true friend and we forget the little lie of costing her a few days with her long lost little brother then she should be thrilled that an amazing girl she calls her best friend is in love with someone she loves... in a non sexual way!

all we see is jealousy bullshit but when it comes time to pay for that attention they envy so much they find excuses not to put out! Lexxi pays in full Erynn creates even more debts with her tears and problems and lack of trust!

so sorry here i disagree Erynn as no more right to the MC affection in terms of sex then lexxi, if anything lexxi pays in full what Erynn takes in credit and probably will never repay!
because she is not a virgin, and according to the tape she kind of really enjoys sex ... and if you say trust issues... i agree with you totally and in every way, she says one thing and does another time and time again taxing the MC time patient and emotional attachment!

I generally agree with you here, but I would point out that when the MC declared his love for her at 13, she was still a kid as well, so having a crush on him would have been weird but acceptable. I think what has happened is that the MC left without the two of them ever talking about it and over the years, the idea/mystery of the MC became appealing to Erynn. She doesn't really know what those feelings are but she wanted to explore them; she wants to meet with the MC and see what her feelings really are. This is what she would have told Alexis and this is why she is pissed. I think Erynn had every right to be angry at Alexis, not because Alexis fell for the MC, but because she hid it and lied along the way. This is where Alexis loses all credibility for me.

I am not a fan of Erynn. She thinks the way she treated the MC when they were kids was okay, but she left the conversation when the poor kid was pouring out his heart. That was pretty cold. It showed me that the MC wasn't important enough to give the MC her full attention at that moment. Yes, okay, she was 16 and confused... I am not saying I don't understand it, but while the MC ran away, she didn't really handle it well either. Plus, her choice to be friends with Ethan in the first place was stupid.

I think, if you were a patreon of hers (and I am), you would probably understand. She gives a ton of updates and discusses her successes and her struggles. She struggled with this update as far as getting the story to go the way she wanted it but worked through it and talked about it along the way. She is one person doing all of this. I am not sure if she has a rendering rig or not, but regardless, it's a lot of work, especially with all the paths. It may not take much time to write one scene, but if you have to tweak that scene base on previous choices, you could be writing that scene multiple times.

The great part about this VN is also the worst part... all the choices and all the repercussions. The farther along in the game she goes, the more choices she has to manage and keep track of. She has to think of every scenario based on who the MC is dating, fucking or ignoring. It would be a maddening job.

So to answer your question, we support her because she works really hard and she is all by herself and she really wants to put out a quality product.

EDIT; I should also point out, she has never coded or rendered prior to this game. I mean, this is her first effort out of the gate. It really is impressive.

5 years apart is probably why. Ethan has 5 years to manipulate Zach and everyone else.

I know the idiom, I just don't think it fits the situation very well so I prefer to mangle it into something more apt.

At any rate, it sure doesn't feel like Ethan's been pals with Zach for 5 years. When the game started, Zach was extremely eager to hang out with the MC again. That suggests that either the MC and he used to be REALLY good friends, or that Zach had no other close friends at the time (or both, of course). Personally, given how socially awkward Zach is constantly portrayed as, I'd say this 'close' friendship feels extremely recent. Which is fine - I can see Zach bonding with Ethan very quickly and I could even see him taking Zach's side thanks to his frustrations at the MC's success with the girls. But that still leaves us well short of slugging the MC just because he accused Ethan of misbehaving.

Unfortunately, that's what we got. It not only torpedoes Zach's already fragile likeability, it also feels like yet another retcon to justify yet another shocking twist.

She wasn't forced, she had sex with her boyfriend and Ethan says he has a recording of it.

I will admit the plot line surrounding it is really dumb in my opinion for this reason....

She is being blackmailed because she wants to be a teacher and if her sex tape got out it would ruin her chances .... so she's being blackmailed into escorting the rich clients Ethan asks her too which would also ruin her chances if it got out.

She has more chance of shutting the blackmail down, because it's an actual crime, whereas escorting is more likely to ruin any chance she has of being a teacher so she's causing more harm than good.

This after the game tries to tell us how intelligent she is and her falling for, arguably, the dumbest blackmail ever because she hasn't even verified the existence of said sex tape.

Also she knows Ethan is trouble, she knows he's been getting more aggressive and she still puts herself in the position to be in where we are now.

So, 2 things are possible here. Either her plotline is dumb on purpose because she's being killed off and it won't matter OR she herself is dumb and falls for the most basic of shit.

1 thing I want to put on record is I love this game. My comments about dumb plotline ONLY counts towards Erynn. She is, by far, the single worst "love interest" in the game (term used loosely because i'm not convinced of her survival ... by all rights she should have won a Darwin award by now) and the fact I have to keep her happy to stay on my Lexi route got on my rather adorable tits.

I can ignore other LI's but i've had to follow this ridiculous blackmail nonsense and her headache enducing thought process of "I can't let a sex tape of my college days filmed without my knowledge and against my will get out because that would ruin my chances of being a teacher .... so now i'm working as what is essentially a high end escort which is far worse but i'm blonde so that's my logic".....

I love the game and I love 99% of the cast I just can't . stand . Erynn.

I'd still say Rachel continuing to work at the Red Maiden in Photo Hunt holds the belt for dumbest blackmail plot in an AVN, but I agree Erynn's behavior is certainly a 'worthy' rival. I like Erynn enough that I'm willing to chalk it up to poor writing rather than hanging it all on the character, but we're pretty much at my breaking point. Even if this turns out to be a red herring and Erynn is fine, we need to sort out Erynn's shit and start giving her proper LI content. Otherwise, we need to abandon the pretense, admit she's in no condition to romance anyone, and write her out of the game (though preferably not by stuffing her into a refrigerator).

Honestly it's the worst story for many reasons.

Alexis is introduced as this girl who is into 1 night stands and bootycalls the MC. Nothing wrong with that, that's a fun girl.
But later we learn she's best friends with Erynn and knew who the mc was all along, which begged the question:
"If you knew all along he was your BFFs crush why did you fuck him? And kept fucking him later?"
"I fucked him because he's hot" would obviously make for a despicable friend, so this got retconned into somehow she feels deeply connected to this kid she barely knew but stole her first kiss for a few seconds, five years ago.

The retcon flips her from girl who likes to have some fun to hopelessly in love way too fast(totally overshooting past me who was just having some fun with this girl and now she's uber attached).
And this backstory is something i can't relate to, she's a horrible backstabbing friend and more than a little manipulative.
And funny enough is sanctimonious as shit if she catches you lying to her, Jesus the high horse on this girl.

The Alexis vs Layla (and vs Erynn) drama being written out so quickly killed the character for good to me.
This was the kind of drama that i was enjoying(not girls getting assaulted or worst), how would they react when they found out? It's all solved quickly and without fireworks, Layla takes it in the chin like a champ, which feels very wrong to me(Alexis at least cries).
And if you kept the lie they find out off screen, she just pops in to tell you off, not unrealistic, but not the most entertaining way to handle this.

With Erynn much the same, there is a "getting caught" route, so some fireworks, but even if you witheld info in the previous episode(and got the almost sex with Erynn scene)the MC automatically tells Erynn he's with Alexis after the training camp, you can't even stick to lying, it's handled for you automatically, that's disappointing.
And of course Erynn now has much bigger problems to worry about than catfighting Alexis.

One way or the other, Alexis isn't someone I want to spend time with. Maybe I'd change my opinion if we could see the MC bonding with her over other things, but unfortunately she all but disappears from the game if the MC isn't sleeping with her.

I don't think BaDIK is a fair comparison. Between DPC's maniacal work schedule and the huge resources he has available to fund the development, BaDIK is an extreme outlier. And frankly, I think there's enough material in this update game to justify the development time... numerically. I just think that time was allocated very poorly. The Iris flashback didn't need this level of attention, and the Nikki/Cara scenes are good but the relationships with those characters are the same place at the end of the episode as they were at the beginning.

i do not think you realize what this is... 1st 80% of the people on this site do not pay for nothing we are pirates harghhh!

those that do pay a small amount like 1$ per month so its well worth the price!

and some of us, who i will not disclose, see this as a mecenas moment we pay for what we consider art, like the Medicis of old payed for Raphaello work!

And indeed her relationship to the MC wasn't anywhere near as deep as Erynn, it's established that Erynn has been pining for the MC to come back into her life for a long time.
Alexis barely remembered him and basically goes "oh it's that kid" and jumps into hopelessly in love in a flash.

One thing i can buy is that both girls meet this guy who they used to have some type of feelings for, except he is now grown up into a hunk and makes them wet and tingly.
But for a girl who has some personal reasons to resist her urges, Alexis doesn't do super well.

Also, why would we get friendship points with Zach if, in the end, he will always side with Ethan and punch MC? Even if Zach apologize in the future, he cross the line too much in that moment. I feel like Nyx kinda gave up on Zach and will bring back the other friend from the past, since he was shown a lot in this episode (part of the backstory that felt really long. If he comeback, that backstory wouldn't just be for Iris and could make more sense).

Nyx is one of those writers who just make the story up as they go... She is getting heavily influenced by her patreons and her discord.

She is winging it. Your example is just one of those blunders. It's frustrating to witness because even if she recognises the mistake made, her shit rendering setup doesn't allow a quick correction without significantly increasing developement time.

Another example: Under specific circumstances and without realizing it she transformed Alexis into a hypocryte...

100% agree to all of this! There is no way Nyx will be able to fix all of these inconsistencies... So the story will be a mess to the end...

I was having a bit of difficulty keeping the timeline straight for this game due to the number of flashbacks, so I tried to make notes as I replayed through it to get events in order. Please tell me if I've got anything wrong here.

12 years old - Main character confesses to Erynn. (MC tells this to Alexis)
13 years old - Sent to live with his father (MC tells Alexis this happened 5 years before plane meeting)
?? years old - Iris relationship for two years. Doesn't have any tattoos (she's surprised to see them on the plane)
17 years old - Cara kisses him in the club a few days before his first tattoo session is scheduled.
18 years old - Gets tattoos as 18th birthday gift, has sex with Lakeyn. Meets Haley the next day.
Starts a relationship with Nikki, gets caught, sent back to Madison Springs and meets Alexis on the plane.
Lots of stuff happens, then goes back for the wedding and rekindles relationship with Nikki.
Iris sits next to him on the ride home.
Goes on a school trip a week after sitting by Iris on the plane.

I can't quite place the ages for Iris and the MC during their two years together. I know she says that she's a senior in high school, so she could be 18, but the MC clearly is no more than 16 at the start of it. So... uh... is the Iris stuff going to get the game pulled from Patreon? I know age of consent laws vary from country to country, but the disclaimer at the start of the game says that all characters are over the age of 18, which is clearly not the case anymore. I already think that Iris is the worst addition to the game, but if she jeopardizes a main source of funding for the developer then she got to clinch that title, right?

On another matter, why didn't we go to visit Lakeyn when in town for the wedding? I tried doing a route where I didn't romance Nikki or Cara, in hopes that we would see Lakeyn, but we just don't go to the wedding at all it seems. I feel bad that she invites us to stop by anytime, and we never take her up on it. Maybe once we get a bike/car we can make the two hour drive out there.

Some mistakes.
He's already 18 when he meets Cara.
Nikki/Cara don't live in the same town as Lakeyn.
There are big-name games on Patreon that have rape, incest and other stuff which shouldn't be allowed. They aren't pulled from it, why would this one with consensual sex at a legal age?

That's another thing, that's a lot more personal than a undeniable mistake, but "it's too fast", she bangs the MC day zero, immediately after reencountering this dude she had 1 major interaction with, which makes it hard to buy in how hard she's fighting against her feelings.

And then while i'm still counting my options, she switches into overly attached girlfriend mode!!! Red Flag!!!!

If they kept running into each other for a few episodes, and we had something initiated by the MC instead of her always being the instigator it would be easier to understand that she just "couldn't resist despite her best efforts".

I would be more willing to attack Lexi's character if every character wasn't written in this horrible, immature way. At this point it's largely a writing issue rather than a character issue. Almost all of the characters are problematic in their own way.

Erynn is allegedly totally in love with someone from 5 years ago, when her memories of him were as a prepubescent boy. She apparently feels like she still has ownership over him (big red flags), and gets mad when he, a single dude who has his own agency, sleeps with Alexis, a single girl who has her own agency. She has no real right to feel upset about it, and even if she wants to throw her hat in the ring, the MC deserves to make his own choice over who he wants to pursue romantically instead of her just snapping at Alexis for following her feelings.

Layla hasn't been forthright with the MC from the beginning. She lied to the MC about her relationship with the principal. She's immediately super territorial over the MC over Tori the first two times she's met him. She struggles with creating boundaries seeing as how she largely lets Zach just hover around her without being shown firmly rejecting him and creating space. In the conversation at training camp, you can outright say that you enjoy dating Alexis but you have deep(er) feelings for Layla and she just goes with it, like it's totally fine this dude just unofficially dumped her sister for her on the phone ten minutes ago.

Elena is just hovering and third-wheeling around the MC and Layla during their courtship, and I guess just trying to Nice Girl™ her way around MC so he eventually notices her? It's weird and hard to say where it's going. I'm sorry for any Elena players because you get to touch her approximately 4 times the entire game so far. It's a slow burn gated behind another slow burn.

Nikki/Cara get the short end of the stick in the sense that a lot of their scenes are literal copy and pastes of each other. They're essentially the same character at this point with a choose your own model option. But they impulsively decide to break up with the MC during a traumatic period in his life because they hear a throwaway comment that MC hooked up with Juliet, even though it was during the same period where Nikki and Cara were both mutually interested in the MC and he had not formally pursued a relationship with either of them.

Iris is this weird, creepy girl with literally no concept of personal boundaries. She aggressively flaunts her nudity even when asked otherwise, just creeps inside and watches her roommate having sex before introducing herself in the most embarrassing way. She's constantly pushing to try to make out with an obviously uncomfortable Alexis, and using her to trying to perv on Erynn (has she ever indicated any interest at all?). And let's not even get into the backstory where he uses a sixteen year old boy as a rebound dick. I love sex positivity, but it's hard to see a character underneath all the red flags.

And let's not even get into a character like Gabi who's an actual married teacher seducing a student, and I'm guessing at some point Nyx is going to unironically require the MC to be monogamous towards her if you want her ending because the MC has to be a saint compared to the girls he's romancing.

Then you have to consider the weird player limbo you're in if you want to romance a minor character. People like Valeria, Brooke, Emily, Melissa, Lakeyn, ShaCarri, Tori, et cetera all have affection scores. But they have serious scenes every 4 chapters. Are you going to get proper endings with them? Does Nyx expect you to spurn every other lover en route to maybe getting something with them? What are you even supposed to do?
