I thought Ximena almost recognizing MC in the restaurant during ep12 was a reference to right after the mall in ep 10 when she picked Val up. If only MC had walked closer to the vehicle at the time.

nah she recognized Gabi's husband in him, Santi the biodad supposedly, we still need confirmation if he is indeed her husband. That's why Gabi says don't say his name, coz the relationship is on the verge of breaking if not already (she already took down their pic when MC visits her apartment the second time)

The beach run with Val happens the same episode as Erynn's beach party. She mentions heading back to the beach later with Darryl towards the end, then they split when Val gets picked up.
Ximena does kinda react when she hears MCs name, so I don't think her recognition is solely because he looks like Santi. We're not even sure if anyone outside Emily/Santi/Enzo/Adri/Mel/Andres know that Santi has an illegitimate son

don't agree, and besides, she doesn't have to know Santi has a son to find some familiarity with him... people look like each other sometimes.
She doesn't react to the name anyway but the fact that Gabi is her teacher... in case you need a reminder. She is totally talking about the husband.

That's the part that's confusing. If Val's mom, she'd have known about MC by name and photo. And before the scene ends, Val and Mom have a let's discuss this more over dinner. So there's presumably a more in-depth conversation had offscreen.
At the very least, I would have expected something along the lines of, ".... oh aren't you Val's friend from the mall photo?", or something to that effect.
After the beach scene, Valm's mom in the car recognizes him by name and look, "...Isn't that MC?". And she even sees Val kiss MC's cheek before getting into the car, and she waves and calls at MC as the scene ends.

I did NOT get a fucking choice, but that MAY just have been one of the 43 times the game bugs out in this update and I have to press "ignore" to continue.

You absolutely do get a choice. It's not well explained with the buttons, I'll definitely give you that, but it's there.

I encountered only 1 bug and that was fixed with a patch. So sounds like you are using an outdated mod or somehow corrupted your saves.

not gonna lie this update cycle got me to point I am thinking about attempting to use the list and doing my best to not unhide ignored comments which is the only reason I dont use it

Are the only two pictures we see of Gabi and Santi when she's in her track clothes? I always assumed Santi was her brother or something as the pictures didn't seem that romantic or intimate. Perhaps I missed some other shots and I do like to dream a little bit.

She had a giant portrait of both of them, whether it was their wedding or someone else's, who knows?
He likely trained/scouted her as evidenced in her drawer pictures
She had an argument with someone who couldn't take five minutes at the track meet to say hello (Santi was there)
Said if they don't care, why should she before boning MC
Next time you visit her house, the portrait is gone
She is out reluctantly celebrating with Ximena, possibly because she is single
One thing we can rule out is them being family, because MC tapped it.
