If anything was to happen to John it would be after that reveal, you'd have Emily and Mel falling out and Iris confused about how to go forward knowing she has a crush on her own sister when suddenly John gets killed and everything gets thrown back up in the air, that would increase the tragedy factor and (crucially for Nyx) the drama of the situation

We aren't, but I can see it being true. Nyx already regrets the bike as it requires rendering alternate scenes for multiple routes.

I'm indifferent on John tbh. I always avoid him dating Emily, not because I want MC to bang Emily, but I find it weird after dating his daughter for a prolonged period, having him fuck Emily just feels...off.

For me I avoid him dating Emily on my main saves for one reason and that is called Mommy Brooke.

But I'll still check out future John/Emily scenes, could lead to some awesome and awkward moments (when Melissa meets him for example)
There's a difference between "dating" and "marrying." I dont' mind mom having some fun. Also, Brooke is her employee, so that's got some ick factor as well. John's gonna flip when he meets Melissa. John only mentions Melissa when he meets Erynn, as she obviously looks like Melissa when she was younger. There's a good chance that he would barely even recognise Melissa now, but I'm sure that she will recognise him. Besides the game seems to imply that John and Melissa was a bit of a short term whirlwind romance that ended up with her getting pregnant with Erynn.
