Also if Ethan came from an ultra rich and powerful family we would have already known I doubt he would use the reserved approach of Layla and Lexi, but moreHe's definitely rich, he's the son of the owner, he is always at clubs and with women he pays to be around him and he sends Erynn and other girls on jobs with rich powerful men... His name wasn't even needed to figure that out.

As you can tell, his pre-introduction work is already made, by Nyx own choices she made him a kind of important character despite having minimal screen time, why let it go to waste?
He doesn't need to be a cackling mustache twirling villain that only exists to screw us over...
But instead someone that due to circumstances competes for the affections of the same girls you want... a rival instead of a villain.
He doesn't even need to be a bad guy, just unfortunately in the way.
I'll take that over a one note villain 10 times out of 10.
Like i said before, relationship stuff is Nyx strong suit(imo), girls jealous of other girls, that's the special sauce... Police stuff maybe not so much, so the message of that particular plot line kinda got lost in the boredom if i'm honest.
I like Erynn, i think she's a sweet girl that has been through a lot, stuck in a bad situation which she was scared to tell others, and didn't know how to get out.
Good characters can have flaws(need flaws) and things to overcome, just making them cool and confident from day 1 is easy.
Cool and confident also wouldn't work for a character in the place Nyx put Erynn, it wouldn't make sense this girl who is suffering being super brash and confident with everything else.
Greatly disagree on "bad choices" though, what bad choice she made? Have a bf?

Some of us half jokingly think that Ethan's father or grandfather is Madison Springs Old (Beach) Perv. His family owns a private beach and he was being driven by a chaffeur when he victimized mama Emily. Nyx progressed MSOP from (annoying for others) comic relief in the Layla-Nikki beach scenes, to a more darker tone in the Val, Erynn beach scenes. The bastard's expanding his territory from the beach to the rest of the city.
There is a weird cut off in points for some of the ladies like in the case of Melissa, and as you mentioned, Layla. With Melissa, you can have all the points from previous encounters, but if you don't compliment her new hair, the dream/notadream scene will not happen. As for Layla, if you're doing a scumbag run of dating both Monroe sisters, if you decide to choose Lexi instead of Layla, you can still save your ass from Lexi and Layla confronting you in the infamous You're a Piece of Shit scene, by deciding not to push Layla down onto the track and kiss her at track camp. That's a few measly points, and it doesn't make logical sense that you could still get around Layla being mad at you for leading her on. There's several script and game choices fixes needed here. Unless Nyx is deliberately doing the ambiguous thing for the Melissa path?
Gabi is heavenly but so near becoming an antaognist over her jealousy. I want to see how far Gabi takes it. HAHAH.According to Nyx, she did talk to the students, so something more is going on, and sounds like someone is intentionally lying.
As for Gabi saying that its not my favorite, especially on my route with her. She is my number 4 maybe 3 favorite LI, but Nyx also said she was just doing her Job, in another post. So probably to keep it professional, since no actual relationship YET, and keep their sexual escapades secret.
Also the suspension is critical to the blackmail storyline and since that is being fast forward, we needed to get suspended now, so that probably lost a bit of logic with how fast it went down.
