No you wrote it clearly I just misread. That's because picking Nikki up and not Val at the park results in losing points right? I don't recall. Obviously I always pick Val up.

Playing the Mostly Social Outcast Run: The sex scene with Iris plus our history takes on more emotional meaning after all the (deliberate) fuck ups I've done throughout the game and all the people I've hurt. And even without the sex scene or her teasing for a sex scene, she still cares about the MC.

"As some of you might know, there are several bugs still in the game, and I found another big one which I can't fix without new variables that I have to put in previous episodes. I found out that you can't be on an Iris path without Alexis because most of Iris' points happen during the beach date, and if you don't get those points, you're not on her path any longer. That, of course, shouldn't be the case. I lowered some requirements for now as a quick fix, so it could be that you're on Iris' path all of a sudden. That's something I have to change and re-assign several points to a non-Alexis path. There are also lots of problems with Nikki and Cara variables. Meaning, I probably do a full recode for episode 15 from episode 1 onwards and change the way you get variables to what I've been doing in the last few episodes, and I might change some point requirements too. I also want to keep count of who MC has kissed/had sex with, and so on. It might be something I need in the long run. That's also the second reason why I won't be putting any music in the first 3 episodes since I will be changing the code then. I will start working on the code change simultaneously with episode 15. I'm sorry, hate me all you want, but it's a work in progress, and stuff like this happens but I'm always honest about this."

Yes, getting a scene with Iris was locked behind the Lexi path, she's changing it so the scene isn't locked behind another girl's path.

How far off the mark am I in interpreting that there could be a beach date without necessarily being in a relationship with Lexi?

Well Nyx has two options without having to create a totally new scene: Option 1 is simply lowering the required points to be on Iris's path so you don't need to be on the beach date to be on her path and option 2 is having Iris text MC an invitation to go on the beach date which would only require a few renders.
She could of course decide to give herself more work and create a new scene with Iris to give MC not on the Lexi path a chance to get the equivalent points that you can get on the beach date.

There's a bug in the route where you decide not to help Erynn with the blackmail plot: After Emily tells you about John's relationship with Erynn, the MC still says things that suggests he's introduced John and Erynn. That introduction only happens if you decide to help Erynn with the blackmail plot.
I've just learned after the social outcast playthrough above, the only (2) points needed to be on the Iris path as of Update 14.1 is to tell her you like her new hair.

Still not exactly sure why the MC's interest with Iris can't be decided by the players choices with Iris in the last episode. Even on the Lexi path where Iris won't fuck the MC, she will kiss him and is definitely happy if he asks her to sit down etc.
I like Iris, there's something about her confidence which I find sexy. But at the end of the day she is still a bloody side girl! Not worth pissing people off by wrecking their saves for IMO.

So the main reason she quoted for the save breaking changes is actually no longer an issue.
My solution would have been just to insert a new on-ramp onto her path in the new update, but that wouldn't be save breaking which is why I didn't mention it. But going by what valbitterb just said she's already implemented option 1 so I don't know why ep 15 will still be save breaking.
