VN Ren'Py Intertwined [v0.14.1] [Nyx]

So, anyway, I am focusing on my one "messy slexi" run right now, as I am now thinking I want to play only that until the end, then start over with my other runs, just to keep shit straight and not get different impressions confused between things. I am playing over 100 AVNs at the moment, so while it sucks, I am not bored while waiting for updates.

My impressions so far:

Most in love with: Alexis. Yeah, she's the most real life good relationship so far in the game. Iris is close behind (timing sucks).

Hottest: Tied between Melissa and Val. They are both gorgeous and cool. Val is less obviously sexual, so it is a very different hotness, but Val and I flirt and have closeness with sports. Mel is a crush since childhood. Nuff said.

Closest emotionally: Iris and Erynn. They are the LIs with the most history with the MC, and it shows in the writing. In my run it didn't work out with either, and not their faults. I very much care for both.

Most protective of: Layla and Erynn (because Layla is such a darling and good friend) and Erynn because that is the point of the game.

Can die in a dumpster fire: Tori and Rachel. The sex was fun with Rachel, but I really think she was a plant from Ethan or the real villain to get revenge on the MC and destroy his mother. Ethan's had a hate for MC since they were kids, and as we've seen, he's not good at letting go.

LIs I have absolutely no interest in: Gabi and Tori. Admiral Ackbar has something to say about them. To me, also Elena is a better friend than lover at present, much like Layla. Next run I might go for the throuple route, if it really exists. Gotta wait and see. There's only so much heartbreak I can stand....

Ride or Die (non-LI): Nathan. The boy's got our back, and while he leads us into trouble he gets us out. Brooke can get that way too, she is seriously cool, but I don't see her decking Ethan or Zach to get out of the shit.

Biggest regret: Breaking Nikki's heart. That shit was brutal. Knew it was gonna happen when I confessed about the panties, but honestly, it would have been worse later if I lied. This game makes me care so much about the LIs (except the ones you hate).

If you are first starting this game, completly unspoiled, Alexis appears on the screen and is (apparently) offering guilty free, no strings attached sex.
That's a deal most guys would take.
Later you find out there are strings, and lots of them...

.... And then things with Layla were improving and it was a valid excuse to get out of it clean... In my defense MC is presented as a player or at least I always saw him as a player which is why:
1) I am deeply annoyed by how Elena's route works. Elena is a selfless and serious person with little time for herself, I am convinced that her relationship should be based more on not having time for the protagonist's bullshit and his prosciutto behavior

2) I continue to be convinced that Val is more of a test to see if MC continues to behave like a player than an LI. When Val enters the scene we are on the road to telling Layla that we are dating or have dated Lexi, rekindled the relationship with Nikki/Cara and started to create a micro intimacy with Erynn; And eventually you should ruin these relationships to run after Val.
I'm probably wrong about this but I still believe it.

I'm a "first impression" sort of guy, unfortunately Val made a horrible impression on me when I first played the VN and she popped up, and despite my prediliction for "mediterranean" looking women (thanks Oedipus I guess sigh) I still can't get myself to like her.

Still not sure why, at the beginning my kneejerk reaction was related to the fact she felt way too forced for quite a bit, despite me trying my best to have the MC ignore her.
Then I started thinking she might be Nyx's self insert, even if it doesn't really makes much sense, ultimately ended up on a position similar to yours, she's inserted as a "destructive force", the new bait to bite and create even more drama.

At the very beggining it's easy to be a playa.
By the time we get the revelation that Alexis and Layla are sisters, i had already banged Alexis a few times and had a very flirty relationship with Layla.
The game presses you to chose your favorite Monroe or face the consequences, the one you chose completely alters the rest of the game.
Chosing Alexis changes the interactions with Erynn and Iris, opens Valeria as a possibility, and Elena becomes completely unreachable.
Chosing Layla, blocks Val completely but frees Erynn and Iris to act without concern, and Elena is now a possibility (in the loosest of terms), maybe as a throuple, maybe taking Layla's place(i also absolutely hate this path).

Gabi is a "freelancer" and can be combined with either sister(or any other girl)... but much more interesting if you are with Layla.


As for Val, i don't think she's simply a time bomb meant to detonate other relationships.
She does come in late, by the time the most likely thing is that players already have something cooking(like you said).
But i think her main purpose is to... keep the school interesting.

I'll explain:
If you chose Alexis, Layla is now just a friend and so is Elena, this would make the whole time you spend in school just friendly chit chat... i don't think many guys are interested in that.

With regards to Zach, it did cross my mind being a good friend and letting him have her... but after what he pulled... i'm extra motivated to get her now.
Petty motivation, i know, but i also like her so it's a win-win.

Yeah I've always been "bros before hoes", so I was cheering for him to get along with Elena, and once he switched to Val, the same, helps of course that in my 1st playthrough (I started playing this only last year) I was Lexi struck, no other girl or woman was even worth a look.

Every group at that age has:

• an MC, the "pussy magnet" that when you go to a new club for the first time ends up receiving the waitress' phone number with his first drink.
• A Zach, who despite his best (better say worst) attempts never achieves anything.

I was neither (I was the one getting his knob polished so they could get the MC's attention/number ), but always tried to side with the "Zach", but yes after the stunt he pulled out... he's dead to me.

I'm on the other side, i've been playing this for a loooooong time, so long that i've seen Valeria's debut and introduction.
Lots of guys were instantly smitten and wanted her right away.
My reaction was "i'm busy, i have Erynn, i have Layla, Nikki... i don't need another girl..."
"Also i don't want to screw over Zach, he's gonna end up resenting the MC."

When Zach punched the MC i even wondered if there was some decision i screwed up... once i figured that's just Zach, i felt petty/motivated enough to bang her just to get back at him...
I wasn't super into her back then, "get in line new girl", just doing it for revenge, but she has grown on me since

I mentioned it earlier, apparently it's being worked on for the next update. Making it a harem wouldn't immediately solve all pathing issues, it would lead to less money for the dev though. Part of what makes Intertwined great is the consequences of your actions and taking that away turns into another generic Pokemon AVN.

i was just reporting the pathing issues. meant the harem comment more tongue in cheek same as dev's use of it in the Yennifer vs Triss in-game comments. maybe i should use more often
