I find it curious that Erynn and Val get labelled as "too problematic" for things that happened sometimes years ago by accident or they were victims of...
Not problematic, but definite drama.
At the end of the day, when starting a relationship (regardless of type) its based on what the other party is bringing to the table.
Both girls have baggage, regardless of whether they created it or were victims of it.
"I was just afraid i would lose you if i told the truth", you guys bought this bullshit excuse? After she comes up short on telling the truth not once, but 4 times?
She just feels so bad about lying and backstabbing her friend

, she keeps instigating more and feeling SO SAD after...
She's in my pour gasoline and light the match tier
Well lets examine that, and full disclosure : I don't care for blondes, so that's an automatic strike one.(which is funny since I'm sweet on Iris, but she needs to get the bouncy short hair like Mira or Melissa, and then she will become a real contender.)
When I play,I will put myself as the MC.
In that vain: Yes, Lexi does lie (lie of omission, but I won't go down that rabbit hole as I do in real life consider it the same as any other lie) about how she conducted her self with the MC.
Let's go over that:
She finds herself attracted to a guy(stranger) on the flight (which we know last about 6 hours.) During that time they talk and only towards the end(I am assuming this as its right before the bathroom choice) do the pieces fall into place of the MC giving his backstory with friends and Erynn's name comes up.
At this time (after hours spent getting to know/flirt with MC) is when Lexi gets the light bulb and connects the dots. Here in this moment, she chooses to throw caution to the wind and follow through with her lust/attraction and invite MC to the bathroom.
Whether you make this choice or later at the bar it leads to a sexual encounter. If you pause on the sex aspect for a moment, we(the player) are led to believe there was chemistry building during the hours of conversation we didn't see on the flight that allows for either/both sexual encounters to take place.
She took a chance, knowing it was wrong, but also NOT knowing what/if any consequences would be had.(I realize this is a thin argument as knowing both parties means *something* is bound to come up) She takes this chance, selfishly so, to see what, if anything is actually there between her and the MC.
And on each encounter, there is. There are genuine feelings developing on both sides.
Those feelings continue to grow and progress as each of them make time/find time for the other. This happens naturally and progressively until the MC finds out about Lexi and confronts her. And then... he does what he is good at... he runs away from it.
AGAIN. The same mistake he made with Erynn.
Only this time, he's just a little older. Maybe not wiser, but he definitely knows how it turns out if you close doors for five years.
So you (the player) have the choice now: Do you finally listen to the other persons point of view/side of the coin? Or do you just judge and say goodbye?
In my life I have been cheated on and lied to. It sucks. It hurts.
But I also know what making assumptions does as well.
In this case, I let Lexi explain. AND I can forgive the lie because it wasn't done maliciously or with ill intent. It came from a misguided place of longing/love/fear? Take your pick.
I won't hold that against her, because her feelings are real. If anything she was a poor friend to Erynn, but that doesn't make her a bad friend/lover to me (MC). It's also not the MC responsibility to care about the relationship between Lexi and Erynn when's he's been gone for so long and is just getting acclimated to the lay of the land in Madison Springs again.
Regardless of who knows who, you can't "Intertwine" every relationship. You have to take one at a time and deal with that.
Lexi is far from perfect, but for me, some of her imperfections are part of the attraction.
And this doesn't put Erynn down. My biggest problem with her, is her expectation of a resumed friendship with the MC while she (for one reason or another) has kept a relationship of any sort with Ethan.
Her expectation of the MC to jump back into her life while Ethan is a presence in any shape or form, is ill conceived at worst, naive at best.
I don't hate Erynn, but time and actions have taught that you just can't trust her with your heart. Because she always has a good reason to do something that just doesn't sit right. That's why I think friend-zone is where she should be.
We don't have to agree on this, and that's fine. I just think it's important for everyone to voice their 'why' and feel comfortable if others don't agree.
