I've started the game and noticed there is almost no music in the initial chapters, does it change in the later chapters or is it the same

There is little to no music in Intertwined, there are a few ambient sounds that Nyx added to the remade chapters but it's nothing major. Just listen to your own music while you play, it's what I do.
I kinda prefer the contextual sounds, beach, club, street traffic, crowded bar, school noises... over a "ringtone" playing on repeat.
And when a real music does come on it hits harder.

She's going back and forth between free music and contextual sounds.
Chapter 1/2 has some "elevator music" now... I still prefer the contextual sounds.

As far as I remember, there are a few scenes with full-fledged music tracks that add a good atmosphere - when Erinn comes to Lexi's bar, they argue, and then both cry (somewhere in episode 3-4), or when the main character accepts Layla's invitation and takes her virginity (episode 11). Maybe something else, but I already forgot. But for the most part, it's just background sounds.
