Even Ethan's part of that plot is mostly (and mercifully) devoid of it, outside of that recent scene of his, and iirc that scene wouldn't really be there in "normal" version of the game, since it's a pared down version of one of "bad ends" where it'd happen for real.

But more importantly, it gives MC something to talk about other than "gurl, you so fine".

I feel like the whole "Erynn won't have sex with MC because Ethan's plot" aspect is hurting the game more than adds to it -- if nothing else, you have lot of folks clamoring for the blackmail to end as soon as possible so they can finally fuck Erynn, and pressuring the dev so much she throws out bunch of planned stuff just to shut them up please them.

IMO it'd work better if Erynn simply got intimate with MC at earlier/more normal pace, while dealing with the blackmail in parallel. Psychologically you could sell it as her "escape from reality" route where she gets to live her fantasy she's had since forever, and which helps her forget about the whole Ethan shit.

I agree that there's no reason why Erynn can't have sex with the MC now... They have a strong enough relationship, she trusts him, she wants to be around him all the time.

But Nyx wants to do things in that kinda of "game" style, where you must solve the character personal "quest" before getting the sex/romance scene.
What Nyx perhaps missed is that in a game like the Witcher, this goes much faster than in an AVN that is still being updated... And this plot has to fight for screen time with several other LIs.
In said game with the freedom to chose which mission we do next, we can knock every "Triss" or "Yen" mission one after the other, complete her personal quests very fast... While in Intertwined we can only sit and wait until it gets resolved.

The blackmail stuff never "caught fire"(and a big reason of that is how Nyx allows it to go cold, nothing happens to it for several updates) or became particularly interesting, Ethan feels more pathetic than a credible threat... so i'll be glad to see it gone, it just holds the game back... not just Erynn sex, but the rivalries she's involved.

I think it's probably in part how the user experiences the game -- i've played it only recently for the first time, and only 0.14. When you experience it all at once, it doesn't feel particularly long. Heck, some of the flashbacks or the training camp e.g. can almost start to overstay their welcome because it's all large set pieces. The blackmail comes in smaller chunks so it's more of a thing in the background which gives a number of characters reasons to interact when they otherwise wouldn't, and/or introduces some new combinations to the game.

But i can see how it'd hit different if you've been dealing with it for 4+ years and counting.

yeah I can get that from you perspective as a new player, but many of those that have been playing it from the beginning are fed up with almost zero progress on that storyline.

And I also don’t feel any pressure to ‘get’ Erynn.
The only downside I’d point out is Ethan. He acts and is portrayed like a fly buzzing around your ear. He won’t really hurt you, but he’s annoying. You could compare him to Zach running around the school, pissing off girls and teachers, rather than someone who could actually do something bad. And maybe that’s why I feel this way.

Ethan has ambushed MC, only reason it wasn't worse was someone stepped in. Not to mention how aggressive he gets with Erynn, it's hard to put a gooner like Zach in the same league.

the reason why it doesn't bother "newer" players as much because how the game is structured, barely any time passed in-game, updates are 1-2 days at most. But when you have followed it for years, it won't matter as much, you just get bored with.

Her first and only time having sex with Zane has been used to blackmail her and control her life. No wonder she is traumatized and doesn't want to jump straight into bed with the MC yet.
He has also only been back just over a month, so it hasn't really even been that long. Erynn is not like Lexi who's going to ride his dick as soon as she sees him in the plane toilet.
They have still gotten hot and heavy a few times and she will jerk him off in the shower (if your points are high enough with her) so it's progressing just fine. Besides, good things come to those who wait.

It does feel slow to me, the thing has been hanging since the beggining(even before the reveal, there was this question as to "why Erynn still talks to the guy?") and has barely moved.
At times it goes several chapters without anything(recently Nyx changed for small scenes near the end) happening... for something that is suppoused to be dangerous and urgent... it goes forgotten way too much.

It's not just Alexis or the Riverside sisters now... Layla got confirmed GF status, Iris made her move, even Melissa might've jumped the line(still a question mark).

While that is true, i'm thinking we are at that point where it's being held back just waiting for the blackmail to end.

Nyx makes the MC bad in terms of helping things move along, he's always waiting for the girls to come to him, it's always the girls with the initiative... even Layla.
It annoys me that he doesn't do anything to move things along, invite her for a date, say something to her... he's always waiting for things to fall into his lap(literally).
