This is probably overly generous. Nevermind cutting off and completely stonewalling Erynn because of what the well-known dipshit Ethan told him, the whole setup that's "MC refuses to speak to his own mother for five years because he found new friends at the new place that he likes, so he pretends to his mom he's still pissed off at her" is such "...dude, what" it makes even Alexis reasonable and selfless paragon of sanity and virtue in comparison.

But after yesterdays discussion about Alexis ditching taking Erynn to take MC to the concert being a dick move because they're friends, doesn't that also extend to MC abandoning a wasted Layla and Elena to catch up with Erynn?

No he didn't. He wanted to avoid her but didn't want the awkward conversation with Melissa of explaining that he can't stand her kid. It was a white lie to spare Melissa's feelings.
He's not her friend. He has deliberately avoided her for the past five years. He is still actively avoiding her when she spots him out with his actual friends that he chooses to be with.
Mind you though, with this setup choosing to assist your friends instead of going with Erynn doesn't automatically mean the MC is dead set against contacting Erynn ever again and it shouldn't be imo presented as any kind of a sign/proof of such. It can be very well just a case of really bad timing for their first meeting and talk.
(this is also why i feel the planned change which supposedly will block Erynn's romance if you choose to go with Layla and Elena is a bad call. Requiring MC to act like an ass just so you don't sink any chance for romance with a character is srsly pretty poor requirement)

Erynn's problematic too, but at lest she's not fucking over her best friend in the process. When is she trying to fuck MC when she knows he's with Alexis? Dont remember that scene.
Then MC shouldve manned up and told her at the club that he didnt want to see her. Notice how if MC ignores her, she returns the favor in game? Instead he acted like a child and played hide and go fuck yourself until she met him at the club. Not sure how thats stalker behavior.
If Alexis felt that way, she shouldve stood on business, yet she didnt. She chose to act like a crazy sitcom female playing both sides until she was caught.
Normally I would disagree because Layla gave him the ok and she was with Elena, but she was also with Zach , so yea, dick move.

That's because he had to make new friends, if Erynn had any sense she would have gone with mc and talked to him about it. Instead she stayed at the bar with her friend and didn't even bother to prove mc wrong about her and that she still cared about him, so mc had no reason to ditch his friends just so she could talk to him.
MC also keeps no contact with his own mother for the same five years, despite her repeatedly trying to get in touch with him.
Then as soon as his father's new marriage inconveniences him he's all like, "ohai mommy dearest".
I wouldn't put all that much stock in MC's choices whether to keep in touch with people actually signifying much.
As for what could be a bigger hint? Actually telling Erynn that he doesn't want to have anything to do with her because she mocked him in front of his friends. Which would funnily enough nip in the bud this whole nonsense and save him crying how stupid he was and how much of time with his beloved friend Erynn he missed out on, once the truth actually comes out.

I don't get me wrong staying with Layla is the call i would make in that situation(i think this is a flawed comparison, which i'll adress later).
That place is extremely bad for a "who do you prefer Layla or Erynn?" choice.
And you end up talking to her after one sleep anyways...
But ultimately the game from the start presents this thing(in regards to Erynn), resentment or friendship? Which side will win? And it gives you choices.
If that is your choice you can hold on to resentment and cut things off with Erynn completely.
If you want you can make up with her and be friends.
And after reestablishing friendship you get a choice to enter a relationship or not.
Now as to why that's a flawed comparison...
Alexis deliberately deceived her friend in canceling the concert, she had hidden intentions.
Intentions that could cause harm to her friendship and to the guy she's taking on the date.
Staying with Erynn after the club is a "hey Layla is it ok if i stay here?", i still think it's the wrong call, but the cards are on the table and there is honesty.
Luckly the game allows you to play as a resentful little cunt, knock yourself out

Later in the game MC actually learns this and applies it to his decision-making (at least on some of my paths). I saw this after he has the major blow-up with Emily over the "who's yer daddy?" incident.

The game spells things out for us in the bedroom morning.
Erynn and MC hug(regardless if you stayed with Erynn or went with Layla) and his mind goes between his resentment and wanting to be friends again... He was always split between these 2 things.
The resentment doesn't fully disappear until they have their conversation in the park a few chapters later, that's the point when you fully decide for friendship... or to keep nurturing your resentment, the game does offer you this choice.
And yeah, putting the Layla or Erynn choice there is so bad...

haha I knew it was gonna be a Erynn hate day when I saw Alfred's name never seen a post by them that wasn't Erynn hate. I think it's funny most of the time when I see Erynn hate post they are almost always too harsh or not very understanding considering they were kids ( before the age up) whenever everything went down.
Honestly I never thought the MC was any better than Erynn in that situation either he was a little shit . But I think I find the whole MC wanted to be left alone by Erynn and she should get the hint kind of ridiculous as when she first sees him at the club who wouldn't chase down an old friend in that situation to try and talk to them or whatever. Especially Erynn cause she doesn't even know why the MC never replied just knew he was upset since he ran home and left without talking to her. She just thought he was upset because she ignored / turned down his confession never knew the real reason for some time.
I only agree about hate post about her going in his room tho I think it's with his mother permission so not a big deal. it does seem too sudden to pick up where things were to do the room bit right away even tho I love how she always goes into his room. Cause it makes her such a playful character.

The other thing that outcome shows (IMO) is that even though the MC clearly does everything possible to push away Erynn for the hurt he believes she caused him... ...deep-down, he still has the feels for her. Her coming to him that morning was the push he needed to get past his defense mechanism of "I hate her."
Is this romantic love or platonic? I guess that's up to the player to determine. As always, I'm a big fan of meaningful choices.

There's no point in trying to talk reason to the unreasonable. Some people made their mind up about Erynn long ago. They could never get past the confession misunderstanding, their mind was made up since then.
You like Erynn, I like Erynn, many people here like Erynn. Not everyone is going to feel the same. The one thing that I'm thankful for is that Melissa's path is tied to helping and being on good terms with Erynn.
