Nah, more like September if you ask me. Do we know how many days this update will cover? If it's 2 days, maybe by July if we're lucky.

I think the problem is that the devs lose motivation to work after they hit a certain monthly revenue from the game, they just stop working as hard as before. It's crazy to wait a year for a 15-minute update. I now only subscribe to a Patreon for 1-2 months when they release an update, as a sign of appreciation.

It is a 2 day update, and it's gonna be more than 15 minutes.
She has finished day 1 and has started day 2.

An optimist would say march, someone not so optimist June or July.

Can someone give me a brief summary of why the developer is remaking the game?
The remake is the entire game or a specific episode; for example, Away from Home made only minor changes.
It's just a question, and I'd appreciate it if someone could answer it.

She bought better hardware and was unhappy with the quality of her earlier work.
Things like the houses, the school, the club... were very basic and got upgraded, making them nicer to look at.
The girls also look better in general due to better lightning.

The remake is gradual, she has already remade chapters 1-2-3... now she's remaking chapter 4.
When version 15 comes out, chapter 4 will be with the new graphics.
When 16(probably 2027) comes out, chapter 5 will get remade.

All the way to 9 or 10, that's where it switches to new style.

I don't even think she's lazy, i think she gets carried away writing scenes, introduced too many characters and is maybe making things longer than they need to be.

I’m assuming that because I once roughly calculated (strong word ) when this update might drop, and based on some data that floated around the thread, that’s the date I came up with. (I’m not any kind of reliable source — I just did it out of boredom.) As they say, hope dies last.

I hope that's the case. Today, developers of such games have become accustomed to delaying game updates, and we have to wait longer and longer for new versions.

I think the quote was that she's "restarting on ep4" meaning there's some things she still wants to add, no that she just began work on it.

I also restarted working on the rerendering of episode 4. I call it rerendering, but I should call it a complete remake at this point. I'm still working on the Riverside flashback, and it already has twice the number of renders and twice the amount of script.

What worries me is how carried away she's getting, making every scene longer and adding fluff scenes.
MC goes see John twice this update(one for each day), do we really need that?
A MC goes to the movies scene if the Val scene(or the other night scene) doesn't trigger, is that really smart use of time?
2 different versions of MC goes training?

And even this bigger Riverside flashback, do we really need that?
I thought the sisters intro was perfectly serviceable, it introduces them, develops the connection nicely, the break up is sad and not to anyone's fault... which means that when we see them again the feelings are still there.
Perfectly serviceable, is making this intro twice as long an improvement? Remains to be seen(Kaskaze disagrees because he just wants MOAR MUSCLE MOMMY ).

Nyx needs to learn to "optimize" imo.

wow. i just checked this thread again and just found out Nyx is reworking early chapters. Damn. i just want forward progress on the story. i don't think reworking earlier chapters is a good way of spending development time.

It's been going on for a few years now it's not as bad as other dev's that do reworks as it's only either 1/2 a chapter - 1 chapter at a time with new content unlike dev's that take a year or more to do the entire game's rework and not adding new content.

But for now, with Intertwined we’re getting a remake and new content at the same time.
With Summer’s Gone, we’re not really getting new content — just a remake (though I’m not fully sure how that works, I don’t follow that title closely).
On top of that, there’s WIAB as well (I still don’t understand how doing two projects at the same time is supposed to work). And Ocean is also pushing hard to get things released on Steam. All of this definitely affects the current situation of both developers and their projects.
As far as I remember, Nyx hasn’t mentioned Steam at all yet, and honestly I hope she finishes Intertwined first, and then adapts it for Steam afterward.

The only possible explanation I can think of is we're seeing John twice to help fast track The End of Ethan.

It isn't a smart use of time since our MC seems more of a gamer than a movie fan. But if we get a movie theater lewd scene, I am all for it.

We are probably getting a future Val video gamer lewd scene so Nyx might as well check off all her multimedia, telecommunication porn scene bases haha. (We have had (awkward) phone sex with Lexi, lewd video calls with Erynn (sunbathing topless) and Cara (the masturbation scene) and Layla sending nudes.)
