How he's booked a hotel for them, then all it takes is for Ethan to call the hotel pretending to be Zane to confirm the booking, to find out what room they are staying at and what time. Then book that room before them, hide a small camera and voila. I seriously doubt that it goes beyond that.

I will say at least Erynn's trauma is what plays into her stupidity , which I can accept. While other characters are just stupid because it's their characters , it's what is called for into the plot otherwise we wouldn't be having this Ethan plotline still go on for example. Or Nyx wants to play into the whole young adults are stupid at times ( the MC)

Has she been naive over the blackmail stuff? Sure. But sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees, when you are directly involved in something like that. Sometimes it takes an outside perspective or outside help, who is not "directly" involved to help you through it. Which is what the MC is doing.

Yeah, she is. If you think a degree in any subject automatically equates in any way to actual intelligence you clearly haven't met too many "highly educated" people. For example, there are a LOT of really, really fucking stupid doctors.

Didn't Erynn say to the MC that she didn't know that it was Ethan's dad's company before she signed with them? At her place after the MC helps her with Ethan? If she just signed with a company name, rather than looking who owns it or who's in charge of it, which I can understand. Especially if they are a big company.

I don't want to get too off-topic here, but do you have any idea of the grades that it takes to get into medical school? If you're trying to say that they may lack "common sense" or "street smarts" then sure. There are many people out there considered to be geniuses in their field who can't boil an egg, does that make them stupid?

You see how many steps you have to take for it not to be Zane. Zane would have to assume he's getting lucky that night brag to a friend that he's going on a date somewhere where Ethan has to be, and buy a motel room super early ( given their age, I doubt it's an overnight stay), have Ethan use his connections to get into said motel room and set up a camera.
It makes more sense for Zane to be involved in whatever is happening. Whether or not he was a willing participant is debatable.
