the vision you have for this project sounds solid to me
especially when you talk about the branching nightmare it triggers some PTSD in me
I get it's not easy to keep track of all options to reflect in the dialogue but I'm not even surprised anymore when I clearly reject sex with a girl/don't kiss her and sometimes already the very next scene they talk about like it happened anyway
a lot of "choice driven" harem games make the mistake of assuming that the player is constantly horny and wouldn't reject an obvious affection gain - no matter how questionable the situation may be
(meeting a girl and not even 2 days later already undying in love is another cliché rocket start relationship)
it does not necessarily need to be slow burn, but it should be believable
so far I haven't seen anything like that here which I highly value/appreciate
so I guess what I want to say with this small vent of frustration:
"Take your time" - with so many LIs and branching paths it looks like an ambitious project and you are just starting
better a slower but polished release instead of a quicker one that could frustrate people because their decisions don't seem to matter anymore
