Ok, this is very strange, but something like this happened to me when I used Irreverent as a base for a spinoff (which in the end was only for patreon).
In theory this shouldn't happen, even using the same basic template for VN.
What's the name of that game?

Just in case, do not try to cross the saves, in theory you could break your games, of both games since each one handles different variables.

Maybe the 0.8 where the "What would happen if marcos doesn't refuse Damballa's offer" path is updated, is maybe (if I understood correctly) more of the style you are looking for.

Let's say that the violations in the game are relatively "light".
Since, in the lore, for all that to happen, Damaballa and the Tales of Shadows have cursed the two families with lust.
