It is a dev thing to do unreasonable things.
Maybe it is technical. Maybe it is part of the story. Maybe he thought it is weak-link character.
If I had to guess, it is probably a red-herring in bug-fixing or she doesn't fall nicely into one of the categories for ritual initiation.
But I know one thing for sure, the amount of people asking about merrill is very high.

Performance seems to be WAY better than before, bedroom scenes are now actually playable.

Although I searched extensively on this forum, I couldn't find the solution to the "Sekami Flowers" quest and had to look on other websites. I'm leaving the solution here for others who might be looking for it. Speak to the "dryad" in the temple and choose the answers in this order:

1 - first
2 - last
3 - first
4 - middle

is this the one where you have to speak oldtimer-style? i thought it was intuitive enough

How do you use cheat engine on this game? Like do I need to pick a certain variable type, or do I do a double value + 1 or something? I remember being able to cheat this game the last time I played it a while ago but now I'm kind of regretting deleting my save.

Edit: Never mind I figured it out. It's the Float value.

I'm not sure... I just spoke to the tavern owner and asked about the drunk woman at the bar. Then I spoke to the drunk woman, and then I went out to the town entrance. An event occurred where another woman was looking for her. After the event ended, I went back to talk to the drunk woman and told her someone was looking for her. She sobered up instantly and ran off to a camp. After that, you have to go to that camp to continue the quest.
