It's been 3 years now...

So it was suppose to come out in 2022, it is now 2025, almost 2026. Then it is as i fear, we have anoter darklust milking supporters situation.

Now before anyone takes that out of context lets look at it this way.

2022 original release date, delayed then delayed. I dont know the reason for the first 2 delays but i can guess either RL issues, or other issues with the project so i could see it being delayed a year, but 2 years now going on 3 years.

Its like he no longer cares that people are paying and waiting for a video that may never release and like others suspect i think there will be even more delays.

Now if the artist himself post the reason for all the delays, the long wait or gives up the reason he keeps on delaying all anyone can do is guess, surmise but at this point.

I honestly dont think anyone really cares anymore about when or even if it will get released and when it does most everyone (i am guessing here) will have moved on to other newer artits that are actually making and release content.

Now what he should do (and again this is just my opinion here) is PAUSE his patreon becuase he is not releasing content to justify ppl still playing.

Its kinda like paying to see something and getting nothing in return.

Again this is all just my opinion and thoughts but i belive jackerman has become darklust 2.0

just use ai create the same video or even a better one and destroy his carrier even if he had one

i mean if i knew how to run ai locally and had the infra i would have released the same video with same models with same content and storyline(dont know the story for 3 but would have managed somehow) and posted the video and tagged him on his own paying channels

truthfully i wont blame dev we are still paying even after this much milking well he will milk if we are ready to milk

and why any human on earth deny Free Money ?? I wouldn't , 99% of people here wouldn't if free money coming from people .

And Now the delay , the issue is not delaying , the main problem is to not able to judge how much time in will take as a solo dev to finish it .
Try opening Blender and try to make a simple animation with basic level of textures and then render it , you will see how long it takes , now imagine 37 min of AAA studio level of animation (which usually made by 100+ people in a team)

JM could have released the MW3 in 2023 with same quality as MW2 , but his work improved and his perfectionist mindset and keep redoing the same clips over and over again is the reason we are in nearly 2026.
I get busy in life and time fly quickly that i don't even care about delay , for my free time I have other things to see and play.

It's hard to call the artists scammers, when people give them money with their own free will, and they can cancel at any time. Some people know that an artist takes months to release features, and only join a month to get it and then cancel again waiting for the next one. Others may have enjoyed the feature so much, want the WIPS... and/or have enough money that ~60 USD is like 6 cents to you. Also, a "patron of the arts" does in no way dictate what and how much they get in return for their patronage. Many traditional patrons only get first right of purchase, meaning... they also have to buy the painting (or pay for the tickets), regardless of how much money they have "donated".

I agree with everything you've said except the whole pausing his patreon.

I don't follow much of this, but someone mentioned he offered refunds to those who asked, the others who chose to keep paying are supporting him, whether they're fools for doing so or not, no one is holding a gun to their head. I don't see any content creators who are going to turn down money willingly coming their way, and I really don't think they should be expected to.

I've made fun of this project's ridiculous search for perfection when this is something that absolutely no one realistically cares about besides the sex scenes.

No one cares about the story, or this custom soundtrack he's hiring someone for.

He was never going to have any of my money, and while I poke fun, I don't complain because I'm not invested in this. It'll come out whenever it comes out, if it comes out, and if it does then I'll watch.

What I can definitely say is I look at this situation as a great example of 'perfect is the enemy of good' because there are a lot of people who did support him and felt betrayed, or taken advantage of, and at this point for those people who are dying to see this for such a long time, it will never live up to their expectations and will ultimately be a disappointment because after a nut or two to this, they'll move on to the next thing, but the damage to his reputation will be done.

And there's also the issue of his lies, as with most of his delays, he claimed that further delays wouldn't be necessary or that this would be the last one. When I joined his Discord, he was often asked about MW3's progress, and he himself would respond that everything was progressing perfectly and that he was satisfied with how things were going. But shortly after, he'd postpone MW3 again. So I ask: if everything was going so well, why does he keep postponing it? Or if he said this would be the last one, why did he postpone it right away? The truth is, Jackerman only cares about himself, and as long as he has people to deceive, he'll continue this endless cycle of delays. Jackerman was able to destroy his relationship with a large portion of his audience because of his dishonesty.

In the most recent postponement he already played the Covid card, in the previous one it was because he was very busy at college, in the one before that it was because he still had to work on the audio and so on... He must already have a scroll of excuses prepared for each month.
