In the Last Updates page I see JOHN obfuscated, a dark layer on it makes it barely noticeable. It was like that also the previous update. It's the only game that gets this treatment, why is that?

The 0.5 beta was more like a 0.49, released to appease the audience a bit because of the delay. That way you could release a beta each month to show your progress
