Just FYI, I supported this dev on Patreon at gold level many times, until I got wise to what was happening. So, can I get a refund, or have you got another smart-ass 'pro-tip' reply to that?

You were paying to support a developer and a few small perks, with the very real risk they never manage to finish what they started, that the game turns out to be shit, or that they take much longer than expected, like has happened with many many many games before.

If you wanted to buy a finished game, you should have waited till it was finished.

I sometimes wonder if I should create a ren'py game. Steal a story from literotica, use AI to do as much as possible. Realistically you'd only need to create the first few chapters, the slowly release the rest of the game over a period of ten years. No need to actually finish it.

Unlike some of the devs who hit the jackpot a few years back, you wouldn't be able to quit your day job. But if a few patreons forget their subscription, and occasionally you attract younger patreons who don't know how long it's taken to release what there is, it's a nice little bonus.

I remember discussing this on reddit with a few non-adult ren'py creators, and IRC they estimated it at 240 hours per hour of gameplay, with plenty of branches. If those numbers are correct, that means you should be able to create a 10 hour game in a year at 20 hours a week. Caribdis has created genuinely excellent and fully finished games in 2 years. Obviously, they're very talented, and their more recent game taking longer, but still.

Then again, not as if I've actually made something. Writer's block is a hell of a thing, and often life gets in the way.

Perfectly understand why someone would become entirely unmotivated to finish a porn game they started when they were 10 years younger and in an entirely different phase of their lives. Especially if finishing it, might mean they no longer get paid.

I imagine it must become incredibly hard to make any progress at all.

TLDR: we should be grateful for what we get.

Every few years, there's a new generation of kids, who have to learn the hard way that pre-ordering or paying for an unfinished game is a big risk. The internet is full of people warning them not to do it, but they do it anyway.

But honestly, it's better to learn that lesson by wasting $50 on a shit or unfinished porn game. That's learning the easy way.

You can also learn that lesson the hard way; by paying everything up front for something genuinely expensive like an expensive repair or even the building of a house. That can get very expensive or end up bankrupting you.

And just like with porn games, it's quite possible the contractor who fails to build your house, is unable to finish what they started through no fault of their own. Shit happens. If it costs you only $50 to learn that lesson, you should be grateful.

Oh that's a civil suit where I'm from, depending on the amount. You're right though, most of us will learn that lesson one way or another and $50 would be getting off light assuming you actually learn your lesson the first time.

Of course, it's not unlikely the contractor/company doesn't go bankrupt before the judge makes a final ruling. Or they manage to delay things so much, you end up bankrupting yourself on lawyer fees.

On the plus side, if you don't learn your lesson the first time, you get to spend all day complaining about how you paid for an unfinished game that's unfinished.

Yeah it's one of the good FMC games with different paths out there, but do yourself a favour and don't use your hard earned money to support this game atm ...

Caribdis (Eternum) has a good record of finishing games, and although Eternum is taking longer, he has already created a lot of content. They deserve the support. Good on you for doing that.

Yes yes, after a rework of The CONNORs dick, the next will be a rework of Jess pussy lips. I think both will be manageable within 1 or 2 years. After that I'm sure your wish will be fullfilled and Jess's lips will need a rework and afterwards make The CONNERs lips more masculine. Then we have reached decent quality and move forward, maybe with improving furniture and other important objects, like the interior of the majors office or the news booth.
