wow, I don't want to sound to negative, but it just a fucking nightmare user interface... It feels like someone made AVN with a rpgm interface in unity...
We are reworking the U.I. and could need help with whatever troubles people in the current interface. We thought we were keeping it simple, there are only two buttons, top left is the main menu, bottom left is the navigation. We know it's not looking good as we had our primary focus on adding content. These are some of the issues we are aware of:
- The main menu, it's unclear that you can hover the girls for options and the option text only pops up if you hover and expose them. We added the version number and explanation as of build 1.5, but see that we need to revise this as well. Current idea is to make the option texts always visible and highlight them on hover (we decided not to do that at first because we hated to cover those girls with text).
- There are too many items on the navigation map. 1.3 still has it in a way that the current location is placed at the first item of the map, making the map shift items and that's not so great. As of 1.4 the maps are static. We already divided the areas between near-go-to and drive-by-car to separate them a bit and only maps with events have the exclamation mark on it. We are still thinking how to improve this. We could only show maps that have events and hide all others, but that makes exploring it on your own less fun.
- The actionbar on porn-scenes is huge. We know. Some scenes have lots of camera angles and different outfits, so a lot of buttons will be at the actionbar. Others only have two angles and the speed selection and then there is way too much space allocated for it. We already have the option to hide the bar (and dialog window), but we will further improve this as well.
- It does not scale right with huge screen resolutions. 4K screens and ultra wide screens have issues with the game. We did make some improvements for that scaling in build 1.4, but it can still further improve.
- The color scheme is terrible. Yes, we know, especially at the trade window. We will improve this as well.
- The fonts are bad. Can indeed be improved a lot. They are the free and default fonts but we now found a way to use every free google font as well so we will be checking them to see if any would be better, perhaps even have it selectable within the settings screen.
We wanted to make everything in this game ourselves so we could have the flexibility to do whatever we wanted. For the UI we could probably better have invested in some professional components, but there is a lot of logic attached to it already that will be difficult for off-the-shelf components to do so we do want to try and improve what we got now first.
The entire thing is made in Unity 6 because we wanted to have the option to start adding actual 3D content as well. The dungeon and secret room feel like great places to be moving around in freely, touching and hitting the girls anywhere you want and see them respond to that action, switching clothing and items dynamically. This is why it's not ren'py or anything like that. But creating content like that is expensive, we need a lot more subscribers voting for it as well before adding such content.
