The purpose of the program is not the same for everyone.
For Kane, he is being tested ONLY to see if he is worthy of running the company alongside the mother of his son or not until his son is able to. If he is worthy, then he may run the company alongside the mother until the son is able to. If not, he will simply be a slave/servant while she runs the company until the son is old enough to. So, regardless if Kane is a giga-chad or a complete failure, it's still HIS son that will run the company if The Karlsson Gambit Project works as it's supposed to.
For the Karlsson sisters, we don't know the exact details. How is The Karlsson Gambit Project supposed to prove which sister is the most worthy? We don't know yet because it hasn't been revealed. But what we know is the final result will be her running the company until her son with Kane is old enough to do it himself.

She did what was necessary to keep them both alive. Under the terms of the program, Kane wasn't supposed to know everything. Olivia was more prepared because her ordeal is different from what Kane is going through. The goal of the rehab program (for Kane) to prove that he is worthy of rising to the top without taking advantage of the privileges he was born with.

That's exactly right. But so far it looks like that's what you're doing, trying to make Callista the universal scapegoat. So I still suggest waiting for flashbacks and a heart-to-heart talks (between Kane and Callista) before making far-fetched accusations against her.

But why put him in the program if it's just his genetics that's needed? He doesn't have to run the company at all, and I imagine they'll train his future son how to run it regardless. There is legit no reason for them to use Kane if it was just about his son.

Yeah, I agree. The program is about more than just a heir. I think its about the future of the entire world. We are alresdy in a dystopian world, but get hints that it can be saved like the Veronica project for example. So the program and competition and everything is about more than just having a baby, that is just a piece of it.

Yeah, but at the same time everyone realizes that this heir will be disqualified from running the company until at least 18 years old, or even older...So who cares what happens 2 decades from now? Let's be honest - everyone involved in the Gambit, including the DeKocks and New Paris, are vying for sole control of the Karlsson Corporation, and no one cares about an unborn child who has yet to grow up and not be killed in some palace coup.

BTW, even this beating of Sunshine (slave girl) can be avoided by, for example, choosing a different department for the internship and not going to Juliette's dungeon. So yeah, K9 can be obtained without “selling your soul”. However, in the game show, which for us, in fact, will only begin with the release of pt2, we're sure to be faced with some difficult moral dilemmas that Kane will have to solve... And whether he'll manage not to get his hands dirty at all and still advance as far as possible to reach K10+ in the final game show (pt3) is a big question.

I expect with how much/long weve been teased about the gameshow that there will be some juicy moral choices to contend with, I personally think that youll be able to end the game more or less "clean" (in comparison to others/thr world) just from a narrative/ending/player agency point of view, how fitting/fleshed out that supposed ending could be is up for debate though since im sure "nice" dom kanes (going for highest rank) are a subset of a subset While I agree that there are reasons to not really want anything to do with the current system (my main dom Kane playthrough is one who would feel that way) I get the impression there isn't really anywhere else he could go that isn't
a) much the same as life in Karlsson land or
b) basically Mad Max times.
Maybe fucking off with Angelica back where she came from will be an option at some point, but I doubt it.
