Agree on this. I am here for the story mainly, not "genre".
For example, I am going on dom path simply because it was suggested IN GAME/STORYWISE that it was the smarter thing to do in character. Had the game suggested to go full slave I would have had no problem with it. Similar by taste related with picking the sisters. I am going for Veronica as she is by far the most interesting in my eyes.
I am simply trying to play as how I would act on those situations if I could and I would try to stay on top.
I do plan to play a "selected path" later when the game is finished probably. But for now I am sticking to my guts and doing what I feel is best as "Ayhsel" in that situation.
Today I am playing new chapter. Can't wait!

If you made a complete maledom game, it would be 200% more popular. But as far as I am concerned, we femdom lovers just got lucky to have someone as talented and expressive as you to make a top notch game we can enjoy. When it comes to adult games, the most interesting part is the adult content, or so it should be. I can't imagine playing an "incest-harem" game just because it has an interesting detective plot, while not being able to enjoy the adult content.
I guess if someone would want to make a wildly popular game, theoretically it would be easy to sort out which genres/fetishes are the most popular and make a game based on those. But that would be like selling your soul to the highest bidder.

Can't agree on this. No matter how good the adult content is. Take the story and character development away, and it can be fun at best, but not good.
What makes this game apart (also true for Estate Dominate in your signature) is that it is not simply adult content. Character are not there simply to interact with the player. They have their own objectives, their own desires. MC is simply another person living in the universe.

I wouldn't say the story and char development doesn't matter, but if the game would not contain the adult content I yearn for, I would probably not try it. Unless I was searching specifically for games without adult content.
Let me rephrase it: Karlsson's Gambit and Estate: Dominate would be good stories even without adult content, I agree. Yet it was the specific adult content which led me to them. If I was not after adult games, but only after games with a good plot and mechanics, I probably wouldn't even found this site.
Finally, given that the majority of the games here do have a focus on adult content, and there are some types I cannot bear (like incest, loli or maledom), and if those are not optional, then for me that content would significantly impact on the enjoyment of any plot.

Well, I would invert the "necessary conditions" as I can play games without adult content provided the story is good. And good story>sexual content.
But now I get what you mean. Both KG an dED intertwine both story elements and character development with adult content really well so it is hard to picture them without one or the other.

After playing this update, I have a couple of theories. Now I may be forgetting some of the details from the previous updates, so I could be way off, but here it goes:
First theory is that Callista was not the mother's real name and she was actually one of Alexander's sisters along with maybe Elena. I think that Callista wanted her kids to have a harder life growing up to make them stronger and to have a different perspective on morality than the Karlsson sisters. That would make them cousins and maybe that is were the incest aspect that was mentioned by the dev comes from.

I completely disagree that D/s is or must be limited to the bedroom, that's a very limited pov, and from mine totally mistaken. You have no idea how much pleasure I derive from this game, precisely because its not mere bedroom-kink!
