The test build of Ep8 p1 should be released at the end of January. The final release is scheduled for February, but the exact date has not been announced yet. Keep an eye on this thread, news from the dev's patreon page is occasionally posted here.

I, for one, am in the process of re-cataloging the saves, as they will (apparently) be carried over into Ep8 in a rather specific way, which means we need to get rid of the excess and keep only a maximum of 8 reference final various saves from Ep7 that will go into Season 2 (aka Ep8/Ch8).I don't know about you, but for me with my 2592 saves (I'm not crazy and there is a reasonable explanation for that number, ha ha), leaving only 8 final ones will take some time.. Plus, there are new routes I just haven't gotten around to. Like the one where I strip Olivia of the "SisGambitQueen" flag.
And it's going to take a while to make that save too..)

I don't know about you, but for me with my 2592 saves (I'm not crazy and there is a reasonable explanation for that number, ha ha), leaving only 8 final ones will take some time.. Plus, there are new routes I just haven't gotten around to. Like the one where I strip Olivia of the "SisGambitQueen" flag.

I probably won't be able to properly evaluate your reference ¯\_(ツ)_/¯(although the search engine did give me that character's name, he he), however, if that was your reaction to the number of saves, I have a simple answer - its retrospect. The large number of saves in any big RenPy game, whose update period is quite long (six months+), makes sense to me. It's kind of like a slideshow and it takes me only 5+ minutes of clicking on the arrows in the save menu to remember in detail most of the events that happened in the game earlier. It's very convenient for me).

Episode 8 is going to be separate from 1-7… so the Download size for the game isn’t too big… which Tess Said that you’ll be able to have up to 8 amounts of saves that can then transfer over to episode 8Makes sense...you're still mad...but makes sense

Ahhhh I missed the 8 save slots screen, wonder how I did that....oh well, not important I guess.
Yeah already knew that....missed the 8 slots thing...cos I'm dumb I guess, or hadn't had enough coffee...or was too busy watching radar...take ya pick.

From what Tess told me, it's eight saves at a time, not eight in total. So you can move the eight saves to the new build and save there, then overwrite the saves in the old one and move the saves once again. Rinse and repeat. This way you can move all your saves. I too have a bazillion saves to move. But you need both 0.7 and 0.8 installed at the same time.

Those are very valid points.
Hard to tell if that scene is an indication for the future of the Jacobson family or the trust between Olivia and Kane and their future interactions. Callista seems invulnerable at the time, but still... Id love for there to be a possible situation where somebody is forced to choose which family member to save.
This is solely speculation and nothing else. However, I get the feeling that Astrid knows whatever Veronica knows so even if Dom and Veronica went down, I get the feeling she could do their job if needed.

Unless there is some convulated code to stop you, or it's being done as an 'easy way' for people who cannot move files around a computer, I'd be tempted to just try copying the save folder over and then try loading your saves (as it appears the persistant data is not going to be read).
