I strongly suspect it is the latter. You can opt out of Alessa sub path and get to SubK7 max by the end of ep.6, but you will still get her femdom scenes in ep.7. I think this is because the flag "SubK7" doesn't change to "K7", so the game thinks we are still secret sub and plays those scenes. I don't blame Tess, it's a lot of variables to juggle around, and that type of playthrough (K3/K4 to K7) is not exactly common.
I wanted to ask about this, I recently did a test going from k4 to k5 and beyond and the story acts exactly the same than with the secret sub path, as if Kane wants to be submissive to Alessandra but this time it comes out of nowhere.
Maybe it was the third evaluation, but I swear that if Olivia has the same personality as Kane (both good or both bad) and you are K4, she doesn't want you to go up and asks you to save the token that lowers the rank of your pod mates

From what I've seen you can't use it yet. Hoping multi sponsor Kane can use it to break into z1 from k9 after the game show. Just that's a lot of hopium.

Yup I've said before...given there is seemingly 10 K ranks...and an intermediate rank before the Z's...if we manage promotion to K10, then while some board members may not be happy with it...using the token should allow us to skip the intermediate rank...straight to Z1. Unlikely...but in theory, as per the rules of the ticket as explained to us...we should be able to. I just cannot see (on the Dom path at least where she isn't take the piss out of PickerLewd lmao), why Olivia would tell us to keep it and is it could be more useful to us later....

Honestly Miles, I have nothing against him personally though would have been nice to know the exact true nature of their friendship. However, had he made K5 and stayed there....I might have been inclined to help him but there comes a time (and this is maybe cold and dark) that some peeps are just going to hold your back and even potentially jeopardise your own future.
Tess explains everything quite well, the bad thing is that she started from chapter 4. The guide of the first three chapters is better organised, but does not explain the meaning of certain points.
