A lot of Patreon subs were real-life Evil Doms and they were getting more and more vitriolic/hostile towards Tess, the harassment was increasing and there were more threats than usual.

Tess decided to remove the content to calm the waters and maybe indirectly get this kind of people/"bad actors" to unsub, so you don't want so much toxicity .

There was quite a heated discussion about this news in this thread back in the day, you can check it out for yourself, but in brief (although who am I kidding, there will be a wall of text again, heh), according to Tess herself, she went ahead with the removal of the demon flag (a small extreme offshoot of the regular EvilDom route) because

Many thanks for those responses, it's helpful to have that context. I think it's a shame if we don't get the content that was planned and which the dev herself wanted to produce. Whatever the right and wrongs of what led to that outcome, it's a shame. Not being on the receiving end of what the dev was experiencing from those subscribers, I can't judge whether her decision was justified or not - I guess she did what she felt she needed to do, and I respect that. I just hope the Juliette path still retains what I liked about it (the MC and Juliette being bad together and partners in crime), and ditto with Olivia. That's still possible, I suppose, even if the content is toned down a bit.

Yeah, Juliette's figure is beautiful, especially her butt, but let's be honest - all the K. sisters in this game (not to mention the lower status girls) have near perfect bodies. However, those steely serial killer eyes repel me, especially knowing what she's capable of. For me N1 is still Olivia, right after her is Angelica, and after this couple are all the other Karlsson sisters...And Juliette I consider only as a submissive slave, in the case if Tess will allow the Dom players to do it and if Jules does not die before. But everyone's tastes are different, so I guess everyone will keep their own opinion.

That's why a neutral Kane is the best Kane - you avoid lame-ass Junko, but still can get access to all the other booty of the island. Get some action with Alessa, Dom, Jules or even dr. Mengele herself (why would you though? Jules would be angry). The world is your oyster, all you need to do is reach out.

I think it'd be a great shame if the "evil dom" stuff was removed or changed (does that just refer to future plans or include what we've already seen so far?) I particularly liked the bits with Juliette/MC and Olivia/MC when they were both aligned. I'm not sure of the background to why the dev feels the need to make changes; if I've read her comments correctly it seems like it's not her preferred choice but rather a reaction to something else, but it's a bit unclear.

I guess it's hard to know how much of a big deal all this is because we don't know what the original plans were and how the new roadmap will differ in terms of actual onscreen content. But as a relative newcomer to the game who really enjoyed some of the aspects that appear to be within scope of being revised, I'd be disappointed if the game veered too far away from what we've seen so far.

Hoping for a romance path with Juliette, but I can understand why I might not get it.

If I had a nickel for every time toxic asshole Patreon subs ruined a great game by harassing the dev and not taking a hint, I'd have two nickels (this and Teacher's Pets). Which isn't a lot, but it sucks that it's happened twice.

Well, these toxic jerks thought the same thing, did what they did, and as a result - 99% of adequate dom-players (of those who were really interested in this branch with extreme evil content) were deprived of it.. You know there's a saying, "When in Rome, do as the Romans do" (literally, don’t go with your own rules to someone else’s monastery). Tess listens to the wishes of the players and often goes to meet us...just need to know the measure and not be too impudent, which these "mommy`s dominators" did not want to understand, for which they paid.
