I thin Kane matters, actually very much.If the mc dies in a game it's usually called a bad ending.
Here it seems that killing Kane will be a player choice for those with morbid femdom fantasies. AfaIk Kane first has to drop to K1 to get in the death zone.
Kane does not really matter. He is there because he is the son of Cole and Callista.
Both Cole and Callista were presumed dead back then in 2020 but now they are alive and in the game.
If Kane dies, they can make new babies for the gambit ... and Veronica can likely help to grow them faster ...
She probably could also just take genetic materials from all of them and then create/clone new Kanes without 9 months delays for pregnancies ... if the gambit matters at all.
We already know that there is a lot of tension between the Kalrssons and the DeCocks, especially after the return of Cole. The only reason Callista is playing along is because Kane is threatened, but if the Karlssons kill Kane I would assume there is no holding back. Cole, Kallista and Nadia would most likely want revenge and start a war between the two companies. Also the tension between the Kalrssons sisters grows stronger over time. There also is potential for a civil war between them especially if the one thing that could solve this more "peacefully" is taken out of the game. Of course they could take his sperm before he gets killed, but he is infertile right now right? The question is how can this be changed.
Of course there is no guarantee, but I think Kanes death without solving the gambit first would mean the end of the Karlsson empire. Alexander even says it, if nobody can take his price, he would prefer his empire falls.
