Will this update be worth downloading if you played 0.7.9? I read the changelog but it didn't really mean anything to me in terms of amount of content. Not sure if it's 20 mins of content or 90 mins. Can someone let me know?

pretty much impossible to tell. highly depends on how fleshed out the three new characters are i'd say. blossy is fightable, the schoolgirls probably not. number of scenes they have: unknown. not that scenes are equal in length anyway and there is also the " various variants/edits to existing scenes" part that gives us even more unknown variables. "Added Irated Ghost (Mob)" lets me wonder if we get generic enemies akin to the skeletons in domina, we get books that teach "skills/functions/others"...
overall it sounds like a good amount of content to me, not to mention much needed bugfixing.
F95 is known to be an excitable community when they are given such ETAs
indeed :D

If one pays for a certain service and then is not given it, it is right to get a little angry. But in any case, I don't see 'hate' here, just a bit of indignation.

However I think people are more upset because it was supposed to come out a long time ago... if he had said from the beginning that he needed more time no one would have said anything.

Guys,
I've tried the game and in general it's very good.
In my opinion it's worth the wait.

However, you have to take into consideration that only one person is doing everything, both the game and the CGs, and that takes time.

I would agree with you *IF there weren't constant teasers and fakeouts. Just say "still working on things" or that he's taking a break for awhile. And don't mention anything about uploading/releasing until you're ready to share a link. People would never have a problem in that case.

Look guys, there is no baiting or anything, if you look at his releases he had 0.8 out and has been going back and fixing issues that come up. Was there an initial delay based on a similar thing? Yes. We can be critical of that. But him actually releasing it and then retroactively going in to fix some issues that people discovered to give something that is properly working, which inevitably delays its reception here, is NOT an issue.

This is my understanding, I could be wrong about the series of events but I have checked this thread most days for a while now to see how things are going and this is what I have seen develop over the past month and a half or so.

There is a difference between an irresponsible delay, a compromised estimate, and an extension for inevitable unforeseen issues.

That has nothing to do with Teary saying it'd be ready when it wasn't, multiple times now.

Now you're just giving us conflicting information. Was 0.08 actually released briefly or not? Did you get to play it? If so, what was the issue with it? Teary has never "pulled" a release because of how buggy it was, and we've gotten some extremely buggy releases. If this version is so unplayable that he needs to literally unrelease it, then how exactly was it necessary for other people to play it for a couple of minutes to find that out, instead of, you know, realizing it himself on his own. In your efforts to shield Teary from as much criticism as you can, you just aren't making sense.

And let me reiterate: Some of us criticizing Teary actually like him as a dev. You don't have to be a blind supporter, a righteous defender of his honor or some shit to consider yourself a fan.

And also, Teary still has a long way to go before anyone can say he's like Koda, but by doing dumb stuff like this suddently those non-sensical comparisons gain more and more validity, as much as I hate to say it.

To clarify, the way I see it is this: Devs like Teary, who single-handedly work hard to bring us great games, deserve to have "Koda moments" every once in a while, whether it's IRL responsabilities, the pressure, needing a break, whatever. You can't expect people to not make mistakes, I get it, but I'll still criticize it and so should YOU, because it's when people don't that you run the risk of it becoming the new standard, and THAT's how you get an actual Koda 2.0.

EDIT: Don't call on mods for every little thing, they're busy individuals.
I dont support him yet (hoping for another way other than Patreon) so I don't have direct access to things, but from the messages we have been shown that were from discord and information we have received over the last few pages clearly SOME kind of release or post was given and then shortly afterwards nixed in favor of a few more hours/days of fixing. It was also very clearly (or at least, likely) related to the Macky content, because there was a post saying something like "Macky was removed from release" due to issues which very well could be what is being fixed right now. Whether it was Teary realizing something was broken or someone finding it and reporting it quickly, I can't say, so what I said was a bit vague, my fault. But what I said was all factual.

At one point, the version was ready to go, maybe even released - I personally cant say for sure. Then, through one way or another, something was critically broken. It was discovered by someone. Therefore it was delayed, understandably, so we can have working content.

Is the broken version still available for download on his patreon post? Was it ever? IDK! But that doesn't matter because its not what anyone wants to have long term.

Did Teary handle things great before this though? No, it definitely wasn't perfect, but it wasn't unreasonable. AFAIK from reading old posts, he even gave advance notice the first time because of school exams. The second delay is definitely a push on people's good will. People have also suggested alternate methods of approaching updates in the future. to give Teary something that is actually healthy and sustainable. That is the adult way to handle things.

All I am trying to convey is the reality that this isn't something that needs to be made into an issue, but it IS something to ask Teary to do better. We can help with that, and some already have!

Here is a thought experiment what is different between releasing the broken version where people bitch and report bugs and then saying they will release a patch in a couple days vs just delaying the game because you realized it's broken?

You couldn't even find shops in the game and had to cheat to play the game how are you this invested in this?
If missing a release date pisses you off this much you might as well leave this site, because every game here has missed their release windows.

No one likes him or anyone missing release windows the thing is unless they keep missing them or they are off by months people don't mention it, because guess what real game development and software development misses milestones and release windows all the time.
Welcome to the real world
Not caring to search every corner of every map to find shops in a PORN game has no relation to your investment in said game. Also we're not talking about EVERY game, we're talking about Katalist.

Lastly comparing him missing release windows to other game studios doing the same thing is kind of proving my exact point. People crucify those studios for not delivering on promises but here you are, willing to overlook any and all mistakes in an effort to defend a creator that missed his own release window he set for himself. Like I've said multiple times already, tell him not to put out a release date until it's already uploaded and he's ready to share the link. Then there's never a problem.

Unexpected things happen. You've been alive long enough to know things like this can happen. You try making a game or doing anything in general and expect everything to go to plan.
