Can't believe this guy whines so much at the start, he acts like the doctor and father are bad for giving advice and trying to help him not see it as the end of everything then immediately comes to the same conclusion like its his own thoughts on the matter.
when i first play this game years ago, i kinda have the same thought. but i think how he changes is one of the selling point of the game. definitely one of the best game i have played and enjoyed (i certainly didn't expect the sex scene when i first played it though lol). got 100% completion (damn my younger self is crazy lol, i love hanako's and lily's route best and still remember them clearly till this day)

I agree but it still pissed me off since I've had epilepsy since I was 10 and I was anything but like he was. Also yeah those were the two I actually liked.

Trying to compare this to real life is not a good thing to do.
A 10 yo is not the same as an 18 yo anyway and the dev's are trying to tell a story, 5 different ways with a 6th one that ends shortly afterwards.
Emi is number 1 for me followed by Lilly, Hanako, Shizune then Rin.
(They all have great stories though.)
I came for the porn and stayed for the stories.
To be fair, the MC went from a normal life, to being fragile that he could die from a door knock on his heart, is a pretty major thing.
For him, it's not JUST arrhythmia. It's his lifestyle being ripped apart from him, then "outcasted" into someplace he doesn't even know. It's hard to get out of a funk like so. I've seen people who broke their heel during track meets, but they didn't cry because they broke their foot or anything, they cried because they lost something they were passionate about.

Don't forget that, if I remember the intro correctly (haven't played in a few years), the guy literally nearly dies while trying to confess his feelings.
That's yet another metaphorical kick in the dick from life.
Plus nobody likes to go from being an average person to being considered handicaped, because there's quite a big implication of "you can't do things on your own, you need help from others because you're damaged". And that's quite the rough pill to swallow.
he goes from being a normal guy to being put in a school meant for handicaped people in the span of so little time that the poor dude doesn't even have time to stop reeling from the whiplash.
The project was very community-based and it being 4chan, they were mostly troubled, edgy teenagers that are isolating too much. Obviously, not everything makes sense, but like others mentioned, the metaphores are playing out well - bad things happen and it can get worse at any time, so enjoy your life and don't judge other people because you don't know what they are going through. It might seem whiney to you, but it is how many alienated teenagers feel and according to the feedbacks, it changed many peoples' lives.
Ill be honest here, this game was one of the gateways to exploring more VN's I have looked back at some of these classic games, and Katawa Shoujo is a very well done game for it's time. It might seem a bit old to some standards. But, definally worth the play regardless.

How the FUCK did I miss this gem of a game? I mean everyone was talking about it all those years ago but I sort of ignored it as an incel game. Boy was I wrong, first VN that actually made me cry FUCK YOU LILLY I DID EVERYTHING RIGHT

Oh boy, you must have been blind then...
I played it a couple of months after the initial release and it was my 1st visual novel with adult content. I haven't played it since, but good (in a happy and sad way) memories stayed with me. Lilly's route was my favorite one, pulling on my heartstrings the most.
Is it worth it? It doesn't change the scenes or alter the content besides the higher fidelity graphics, does it?

Dude I literally did everything I could to be honest with her. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't address my problem with her worrying about me- which I only chose the other option because if I chose to address it he said something offensive about her blindness. Great game but FUCK THIS GAME

Hey man, pretty late comment but where do I put the misha route mod in the Katawa Shoujo game file?Ok, so for the 10 year anniversary of this masterpiece (a bit late but hey, it is still 2022 isn't it
Here is the story: This route was posted on Gamefaqs in 5/4/2012 by user "Maharoba". He was at first posting it in text form then made it into a VN. He intended to complete it then sadly went MIA. The download link for it that he provided has since died, so this is one of the very few surviving copies of it (I re-discovered it while randomly checking out my "Finished Games" folder in my old laptop). Considering that, I honestly felt a responsibility to upload it and share it here so that it doesn't completely die out and more KS fans can check it out, especially considering that I remember enjoying it. With all that being said, here is the game guys. Hope you enjoy it and share your thoughts

Its not a mod but an incomplete game, stand alone game but still its incomplete.
