? If not - your statement probably not completely true. Considering what they said in notes there - there are some censored text in official translation - i.e. removing leading to hentai transitional scenes or jokes and banters about it later. Therefore in theory this version can contain some abrupt and strange flow of events when characters can unexpectedly start banging each other and forget about it later completely.

Everything is done correctly in this version, don't worry about it. The original JP text was compared between Steam and LE versions and the lines where it doesn't match were retranslated. All the missing scenes have been translated from 0. AI translation is actually pretty good, to the point that you don't even notice where a block translated by AI begins and ends. It sounds funny, but there are more problems in the official Steam translation than in the AI translation. Therefore, some parts of it have been retranslated (those that match between versions and could be inserted as-is), but still a lot of issues remain and need to be edited manually. It looks like aNCHOR decided to fire the editor in the middle, so the second part of the game doesn't look good and has a lot of issues. For example:

version they are doing absolutely the same, but with some better tools they refuse to share. The only real difference between this version and their own is that they supposedly have an editor who checks the translation. Which is actually needed for the entire script (including lines from Steam).
I wouldn't have even started doing this if they would have announced they are working on it. Unfortunately they've added this info only when I was basically done.


TL;DR: The only difference between this version and theirs is that I was unable to insert the translated images from the book into the game, and that they promise that a real editor will manually edit the entire script.

So I dropped the 100% full save into the game's installed directory and nothing happened. I can't find the save location in appdata. So what am I missing?

so Steam version plus what exactly? does it include the original PC story that was cut/censored when it was re-released for consoles/all ages? it got censored again when it was re-released later. wasnt one of the stories that got cut was a psycho nurse ending? early bad boat. something IRL happened that resembled the story so they cut it after it was released. <- I could be wrong here.

One tiny nitpick: 2001-08-03 was the release of the original Kiminozo, the latest edition was 2008-03-28 for the DVD version, 2010-02-26 for the Download version.

Well, if that is the case (I can confirm it myself being read Amakano 2 translated by DeepSeek with surprisingly great translation quality) and AI became better than humans in some cases nowadays... maybe you could try to just translate all Japanese text from zero without involving Steam version at all? I strongly suspect that final version will be better than current frankenstein - without all issues from underpaid or hasty editors and careless censors. This task shouldn't take much time or effort considering that it's AI.


P.S: how the game is compared to White Album 2 or School Days, I wonder? All these titles about tragic love triangles after all - so, I suppose, they are valid targets for comparison for those who likes this genre.

Yes, some parts (together with one that I used as example) for some reason can't be fixed using AI - it refuses to change them over and over again. Makes me wonder why these problems are there in the first place and why AI always makes the same mistake. No way parts of the Steam release were translated by AI, right?

So yeah, the manually edited version will be better for sure, better than this one, and better than the Steam translation. So if you want best possible text you can wait, but this is not MTL or the typical AI you've probably experienced in other games.
This one is actually quite good, as it was done using the latest AI (probably the best currently available bc it's the only one powerful and uncensored) and a different context-based approach. Instead of translating each line individually in a vacuum, here AI could see the previous and next text, so the same short lines were translated differently to match the context. That's why it's better than the usual AI shit.

Manual editing is always better than the unedited translation. Some parts of the Steam release were properly edited and they are really good. Removing them will be a downgrade. All censored lines were already fixed too, so the current version is the best I can do. But it might be worth trying to translate some other untranslated games from 0 using the same approach.
