As for Windows Defender it doesn't get flagged on my PC.
Thanks for your prompt reply.
afhook2.rpo doesn't get flagged by Microsoft if it's just sitting in Explorer: you get move it around and send it to virustotal on an internet browser and it will happily oblige. It gets quarantined on my machine as soon as I started the game however.

also, does anyone know where you can get Another Episode Collection+ DLC?
Or does this version have it already?
aNTIQ announced not long ago that the Enhanced Edition will be getting a R18+ edition on 28 Nov, called "Enhanced Edition R". It appears this Enhanced Edition R would include the Another Episode Collection+. Sadly this R18+ edition appears to be geoblocked to Japan so technically it comes with all the caveats associated with that.

Can't replicate, I even forced it to check the whole directory and then run the game - it didn't get flagged. But Defender has different version for each windows and I was testing only on win11. I was going to send it to MS for manual review, but can't do it since it didn't get flagged in the first place.

That will be the same steam version but with 18+ content and only in Japanese. With that it would be possible to make the same patch for the steam version without this hack, but not sure if I will be doing it since some ppl are making manual translation and probably will finish it by then.

As I said before you guys clearly haven't even checked the translation.

This is not a garbage AI shit as you can see in other AI translated games. This one is not different from a manual translation, but without editing pass - like it was received directly from the translator.
Each manual translation goes like this: text translation -> editing -> final testing. This one skipped the `editing` part - this is the only difference. If an editor would give it a pass it would be no different from a manual translation.

What it means? You will clearly understand 100% of text, but same things can be translated in a bit different way throughout the game. For example same joke in the beginning of the game and repeated later. Or some other small inconsistencies like `teacher` could be translated as `sensei` in some parts. Those parts are exactly what an editor would fix.

It also replaced the "text translation by a human" part with a "text translation by an LLM" part. You may claim that it is as good as a human translator, but that does not change that it is machine translation, by definition.
Putting that aside, how did you evaluate the quality of the translation? That the translated lines "made sense"? Side-by-side comparisons of the scenes to check that they conveyed the same information/tone?

First it didn't replace anything, as it says in the description it's steam translation + AI of missing/censored parts. It wasn't translated from 0. Already translated parts were even used as reference and context for new translation.

But steam version while good in common route falls apart in other routes. It has the same problem - lack of editing (to the point that Akane is referred as "he" by her parents). So I did try to fix those problems too with AI + context, but for some reason AI refused to fix this obvious problem no matter how much I tried - it left "he" all the time. Makes me wonder if steam translation was made with the help of AI too.

As for checking and comparing I've read 4 routes in the steam version and then same 4 routes in this version myself. I did line by line comparison too to make sure that the new version is not worse (if worse I've reverted the whole scene and sent it again). I've also made some small fixes and manual corrections too. Best example is doctor who is `sensei` in original, which can be translated in different ways. I've used surroundings context for proper translation (in school it's `teacher`, in hospital it's `doctor`, in swimpool it's `trainer`) and then manually checked each reference and fixed `trainer` translation to match the steam version (don't remember whatever it was).

My point is it's not just "whatever slop" translation, overall I've spend a whole month on this.

You guys can hate AI as much as you want and try to undermine it by calling "slop machine translation", but soon everything will translated by AI bc it's getting really good. This translation is a great example of that. It still has some problems (this is why editing is still needed), but those problems will be solved in 2 years (by unlimited context, so AI will have access to the whole VN and thus will have consistent response).
Even now a lot of official games on steam are shipped with AI translation already, give it like 5 years and it will be only AI everywhere. Get used to it and stop fighting progress like some old ppl ;)

It's an important, long and extensive vn. I'm not looking just to "follow" and get the gist of things. LLMs biggest weakness is context, for anything. With that reply it's any wonder the team didn't want anything to do with you. "man I prompted sooo haaaard" is that supposed to be convincing? The machine translation releases going up are absolute trash and no one should give them money.

I think humans deserve human creativity, and that includes translation.

I was wondering if anyone knows if the sex scenes are voiced? There's probably just minimum dialogue (mostly monologue and descriptions of the acts), but are there any moaning sounds from the girls or sex sounds (wet slapping etc.)?
