For anyone still confused as to why the game is crashing a lot, This is an experimental demo build and not a full on update. The first three enemies are the only thing that will work properly in this build.

This was looking pretty promising for a while but such a complete shift in direction is a pretty bad sign. Unfortunate

Heya, thanks for the feedback everyone!

Looks like peeps had a look and the majority of people here aren't feeling it! xD

I also read some things that I think I should clarify:

This "Domcaid" build was meant as a quick showcase demo for patrons, not an official update. I wrote in the release post too that it is very buggy. We didn't want to sink a bunch of time into a feature we might not end up implementing. We figured this is enough to showcase what we had in mind, to let everyone develop an opinion on it.

I figured a picture is worth a thousand words, so we decided to do it like this over just explaining it and then running a poll.

Another misconception that I saw a few times is that we want to do this because it is "less work". It is not. Code-wise it is more work because it would require us to change some things. The emote-sprites we do for the scenes are also useful for other cutscenes, so that is just repurposing of content that was already planned.

The biggest benefits that we see are

- It's more in line with the tone we had in mind for the game. Even with how hard we try to show that everyone is having fun, we still have the non-con tag attached to us. And I totally get that because the act results out of combat and getting grappled.
- Not having to design enemies around grapple attacks.
- It is more clear which enemies have animations and which do not (for instance, mosquitos don't stay around in a dazed state)
- Combat feels more fun and fluent
- Allows for Kincaid being more dominant in some of the animations we do down the line, which was something that is requested a lot by patrons.

Overall, we would consider it a shift in gameplay, but not a shift in tone, since the animations and the vibe we are going for would be the same.

Bottom Line:

Essentially we'd give up the old "lose to win" mechanic for more freedom in enemy design and flavors of animations with enemies.

Again, thanks everyone for having a look and sharing your opinion!

Where they the same people? Because if not that's just a horrible and sad strawman.
I leave it to you to do the research. Would you be surprised if they were the same people? I wouldn't.

not sure what is there to do or see in the demo that i just downloaded
You can start the sex after defeating the enemies. Before this build it was always the other way.

There was a post that went with the build, I don't think it was posted here. Basically you just walk up to one of the dazed enemies and press the interact button (Y on controller, E on keyboard).

I want to clarify my position here. If this is something you really really wanted to include in the game, You could make some future enemies that would be dommed by Kincaid only. I don't know what they would be, or if I would like them as much, but it would let you add the content you and those patrons want, without taking away the game the majority of players enjoy as is. My problem was not 'Kincaid can never be dominant', it was 'Kincaid is no longer submissive'. I hope that I communicated that clearly.
