Yeah the timeline their patrons agreed upon. Most here are leechers so just wait and be happy you don't need to pay to get the pirated version here.
I used to be a patron but I quit because of the longer release period. IIRC the longer release period was only supposed to be 2 months, but then they casually increased it to 3 months so they could work on background systems. The project used to have almost 15,000 dollars of pledges and now look at it. I imagine many people here still care about the project, but don't agree with the way it's being handled. SO they complain.

EDIT: my bad i must have confused it for when they were making noxian nights

Hopefully Sabia can return to tents in 0.7 undercover or by accepting the reputation hit and public humiliation of working as a whore again.

It'd also be great if she can have sex with the rowdy, groping Orcs in the tavern instead of letting them be killed, then convincing them to side with Tekrok, recruiting them instead of letting them die, after all it is a porn game.

That is untrue. According to graptheon the most they had was 7.3k of monthly support during the early months of 2018. View attachment 209044
Something i find very interesting about the stats are that they clearly had very strong growth and good will from patreons when going from NN into KOD, now that has plateaued and arguably started decreasing. That fact simply can not be ignored and i think it would be foolish of them not to look into that patern and try to change the trend for the better. That is what a smart company would do .

He has raised only one reasonable point which is that 3-4 Scenes every 3 months for a H-Game is embarrassingly slow. Now before anyone fires off at me citing "under the hood improvements" or "KoD is more about the story" let me refute you right here. Yes coding infrastructure is very important, but 3 updates where the H-scenes are not the forefront of the updates is a case of poor planning. Pacing/segmenting H-content with the story and mechanics is something that has been lacking recently.

If anyone wants to reply with the argument that KoD is more for story oriented folks and I was mistaken in following it for porn scenes you're wasting your time, you'd have to be a fool to believe that KoD was marketed at the beginning as a text focused H-game where the story is more important than the H-scenes. This is all from the perspective of a patron too, so don't bother with that "hurr durr it's free you can't complain" nonsense. I've been disappointed the last couple updates and this next one will be their last chance to hook me in again.

Why would I play the hentai game for the story? Imo when porn gets me bored I switch to Hentai. Yes, I like good story but for me hentai scenes in a hentai game is much more important than a story. If I want to play out the story I'd play The Witcher 3 or Assassin's Creed.

Migrating form rpgmaker to renpy hurt the development time, they have redone the battle and inventory systems a couple of times already, plus if you were expecting a NN2 this isn't for you.

Having a good story in hentai games is a thing we should all encourage in my opinion, it doesn't matter if it's a porn game. Infact a good story has a bigger effect too, especially if it gets you immersed in the right way.

Sacrificing story for good hentai scenes or vice versa isn't really a good excuse either, its like saying you have to sacrifice story for good gameplay in non porn video games or the other way around but that's not the case at all anymore.

That is a very strange thing to say considering you are on the thread for a porn game that is also story heavy since the beggining.
Plus what Ragnar said and has been said across this thread several times but people seem quick to forget.

I think I should've made it more obvious that my comment was directed to Fosty, sorry about that. (unless this isn't a reply to me)

I think it is not really about understanding. This game is really good. And I mean really good(at least on lvl of similars, bcs nothing compares to DreamsOfDesire ;P ). It is like waiting for another slice of cake you love. Of course you at some point become nervous and impatient. Especially when you have to wait for it very long time. In that case 3 months is very long time, especially considering how not significantly big last slice of cake was.
I get it that there is no real point of demanding from authors to do anything, but that doesn't change the fact that they made a drug that is very effective ;)

I think people have gotten very used to the monthly subscribtion model for a variety of things. Lots of pay this much and get this every month. Patreon is adjacent to that concept but it isn't that, and I think it throws a lot of people off.

Part of the problem is that many patreon campaigns are effectively used as a monthly subscription service, even by this dev during the Noxian Nights days.

Honestly, with the way things are done i personally feel patreon is one of the worst, if not the worst, crowdfunding for how often it's a scam or misused. While most one time crowdfunding campaigns are a bit harder to continuously scam money out of, since people getting burned once by someone makes it much harder to continue the scam for anyone, while patreon is much easier to claim issues in production and never actually releasing a complete project or massively slowing releases while treating it as a subscription.

I honestly have no issue with a patreon campaign acting as a subscription service for artists, game devs for early access, video producers, exc. Hell, I personally supported the NN campaign. The problem is that many of them basically do advertise as subscription services and end up not keeping to their advertised schedule. The way I see a fix for that is what was attempted by YummieTiger (I think that's the name at least). While the game is basically on hold now it was originally pitched to be a per update campaign, having a specific number of updates for the complete game listed up front. Even the NN days were basically like that, where you knew you'd get a certain amount of content per month and it was consistent every month, though they didn't list a number of updates until complete.

Of course, as I said earlier in this thread, it's all down to the individual if a given campaign is worth it for what you get out of it. I personally won't support most campaigns now because I got burned by some in the past (and also don't have the spare money to support it right now).

Please keep the comments about the game in the OP; not about over-arcing Patreon topics, not about each other, etc.

I get talking about the dev's Patreon, but rants about Patreon in general don't belong here.

It should be at 15k a month or more, but when they switched to a 2 month cycle that ended up being 3-5 with the same amount of content as their previous 1 month updates all growth was killed and they went from like 7k to 6k then the patreon dormant pledge thing happened and they hover around 5 until a release is announced and they get 6ish for a few weeks

but sierras got a few projects in the works at once so why stress over a game that she likely splits the profits with 50/50
