Nope. Release date in 2 weeks, another 2 weeks of beta testing, etc. etc. etc. Based on prior behavior.
Well, they said "We're expecting an early September release for it." The two important bits are the "expecting" and the "early". So they probably want to have a release before the 13th-15th of september, but there is no guarantee that it will happen. So with some luck we might be playing the new version in less than two weeks. Without luck i guess over 3 weeks aren't impossible either.

Hmm... I still am going to play but my expectations for the plot are down.
No more Sabia trying to navigate other races politics via sex, blackmail, shady deals or murder to create her own military support to get revenge at the people who betrayed her.

I don't know what all the fuss is about. The preview picture shows art for repeatable events. Those have nothing to do with the main plot. This makes the game way more interesting than it currently is. An example: now you work in the tavern and get a generic text event after you kill the orcs. With the update you get a repeatable groping event.Hmm... I still am going to play but my expectations for the plot are down.

What the CGs above are for is for inserting sexual content into normal dialogue scenes with the paper dolls, so that the writer can mix and match elements for minor scenes without Nomo having to draw an entire new set of CGs specifically for each scene. This will have two effects: First, it'll make it much easier for the writer to sprinkle in a lot more sexual content than there was in previous updates. The frequency of h-scenes can be massively increased, to the point of every single conversation being an h-scene if that's what they wanna do. Second, because all of these CGs are of Sabia getting molested... that's what all of this new sexual content is going to be.
They wouldn't do this unless their intent was to have the main story of the game now largely be about finding various excuses for Sabia to get molested by orcs (with a couple of human and elf assets also available so probably a little bit of that as well). Maybe you're right and they won't do this, but that would mean letting this new content go largely unused, which sounds insane when you consider how much time must have been spent on all of these mix and match components. It would be like buying a house with a 6-car garage and then just letting them sit empty and unused.

Did they go back and add the little groping images to all the conversations? If so, I can understand the long update time and it'd be worth it because I love that shit.

Am i just being cynical or does anyone else find it strange how they named the most resent post "Release" instead of "update" or "beta testing" and it was posted on the 31st, just about the time when people would have stopped supporting them before the next payment. it just seems a little misleading for an update post.

Considering their patrons have acess to the content of the news update i think you are reading too much into it.

I'm talking more about tricking the people who might have already stopped paying, they can't see it's not an actual release.

It's plausible that its just accidental confusion since it is about the 9.0 release, but it is confusing.
However info about whats happening being locked to patrons only is bizarre to me, wouldn't you want non-patron to know about it too so they'd be more inclined to become patrons. How does locking info about the development help anyone?
