They are developing this for 5 years.. 5! I took a college degree in that amount of time!
there is no excuse to not only have already learned but mastered such a basic tool, yet they have the most basic game renpy can produce.
why i dont support patreon and any pre-pay methods,it only promotes lazy bones, why cant we go back to the times when only serious and capable people made games? Not every weirdo in a basement with a pc.

The newest post on Hrienn's page is below. I'm sure none of us here are surprised to hear they tried something new, bit off more than they could chew, and ate shit for it. Even with the "new update schedule" where they shatter updates into shards they couldn't buy themselves enough time to get things working properly...

Hey everyone!

Where we're at right now:

The tavern CG (the modular one) ended up a bit more work on everyone's end than we anticipated. While we're pretty happy with the end outcome in terms of being able to adapt it without needing to extract every permutation of variables, we'll likely not being doing any more modular scenes like this due to the time and headache involved in it. We had intended to include the small minigame for the tavern and while we're still having a look at it, we haven't really been able to get it to work and feel like we want. We'll have a small revisit of it after release, and if we can't nail it down like we'd like, we'll move on to the next quest.

That said, while Nds was working on it, Nomo and Monsinne expanded the small Neve/Sabia repeatables we had planned, to a bigger quest that now has more repeatables than initially planned. Neve is able to both be put in a dom or a (slightly)sub position depending on how you choose to progress in the quest.

In terms of size, the tavern quest ended up being our largest quest by far, it and the Neve quest together along with their accompanying scenes are around 46k words, larger than some of our older patches entirely - with a lot of fun new scenes with different variants as well!

Additionally, the new male sprites are now fully finished and will be made use of in this quest and going forward.

Assuming that the last bit of testing goes well, we plan to have this out this weekend.

Almost as if i called it. I'm not saying i did, but the facts do line up.

And naturally i don't want to say that if they have a cool idea then they should not put it into the game and just repeat what's already done, but there is a point where even a cool idea should be left behind and we are a year past that point.

Either way it's good to hear that they put the time of the delay to use and Neve gets some action too.

Overall a bit facepalm-y, but not bad news.

First of all thanks for sharing the content of that patreon posts here.
Now, i did not thought so but i guess is true, their coder really sucks at what he is doing. The post really seems to suggest that, to think they could have just warned us months ago regarding this problem but no. All the talk about dividing updates and.... nevermind, this is just a comedy at this point, i doubt we will see the complete update coming this weekend, they would just split it again or some shit.

Despite this, as i thought the last update is coming in September, a full year of wait to get a full update and while i am glad it is finally here, i am gonna share here, as i did in their discord server, that i am really worried about their future, who knows if we gonna have to wait another year. Weirdly enough their number of patreons increased over the last. Probably cause somebody advertised them by uploading Cgs on e-hentai. Only explanation i can find.
Anyway thanks again for the update, hope we will see the new one fully this weekend and that is gonna be dropped here by somebody. Have an edit that i do not remember where i have found.

I really wish I was as hopeful as you are. Hreinn's fate has already been decided long ago, given how we have to wait for almost full-year-round just to get an update. Despite their 741 patrons, there was little-to-no interaction on their page (maybe limited to Discord only, though, who knows?).

Disbanding/Abandoning their game would be less painful than carrying it around all year as if it had still a speck of hope despite their unchanging belief of "keep a tight-knit community" around themselves and I'm not particularly hopeful about this project since late 2018.

TL;DR:
Denial is one hell o' a drug, for them, I guess.

It's normal that their patreon goes up when a update was released (especially if one cut's an update in 3 pieces and releasing it over a span of 3 months...(Intentionally? How knows..)) but overall, they lost another 150 patreons this year.
But the amount of patrons is not what count's most, but money and here they dropped significantly over past years: From a average of round about $6100 to $3600 per month, that's -$2500/Month in comparrison what they had at the end of Noxian Nights and the first 2 yrs of KoD.

Hmm, I am only from to time looking at this, because I discovered the game recently, and then immediately realised it was pointless to expect fast turnaround and to spend my limited Patreon money to finance them, but on the other hand... It depends in which country they live in, and how many they are, and if they declare to taxes the Patreon income (doubtful, even assuming they are supposed to do so), but in many countries, even those 3600USD translated to more than an average salary, and even to a salary that allows an entire family to live nicely.
So, they may indeed have zero incentive to do stuff, considering also that if they are doing very little for the game, means they can do other stuff, and that money is extra.

They just use this game to get lunch money if they had a day job and has more importance than this :KEK:

yea nomo lives in the us, 3k/month is a pretty low income, even lower if you live in one of the more expensive states. then he has to split it/pay per commission the writer and the coder.

One thing that irks me on this game is how there's no option for inviting some orcs to your tent for some casual fun. You have to download a mod for such an option that it's not even that interesting since it's only a BJ...
