Oh boy, a new project! Hope we can get to V0.2 before 2030!
Guys, you know me enough by this point. You know that i don't like negativity for negativity's sake and so when i criticize something i make an effort to make it constructive and maybe a bit entertaining....
But can anyone come up with a reason why this new update post is not public?
"Hey, we found a promising new artist and we are starting a new project in the same world, but we will lock the post in order to avoid accidentally attracting new patrons or returning subscribers."
Anyway, if i were in their place, i'd make sure that the new project has a strong hook, smaller scale than KoD and no complicated extra mechanics.

I won't be surprised, it's obvious they won't go back to the content they were doing for the most part.
I'm not a fan of games like that, but KOD is definitely dead, so I don't care.

Thanks for sharing the info with us! I checked LewdJoy's artstyle, they clearly seem to know what they are doing but their shading, to me, is not compatible at all with porn. The appearance of their characters' skin feels off and not inviting at all.

Don't understand why they are making a prequel of all things?!
This ain't the first game with a new artist, they can just continue the current game with new art, just look at Claire's quest.
Feels like more milking of the patrons, I'll only change my mind if this new project has a update every month, for at least one full year.
There are likely some issues with the copyright on the characters. Since Nomo created the character designs, if they just used a new artist there could be legal issues if they use the KoD characters. That and having a (relatively) clean slate, without all the half implemented and forgotten systems in KoD and the obvious change in art style or huge expense of replacing all the existing art.
Nomo created the whole setting, so if it was a question of copyright, then they might not be able to use anything at all and might be forced to start a new world.
My wild guess (since i can't see their post) is that Monsinne never really liked Sabia as a protagonist. The witty, athletic warrior captain basically disappeared as he gained more control over the game, so it would make sense to start a new story with a MC he does not feel the urge to retcon.

Oh boy I can't wait for a generic borderline-braindead FeMC who gets tricked and raped by every single guy (or girl) in existence and saves the world by doing so.
Monsinne is a hack and every game with him at the helm is a waste of time and money, the prequel is going to be shit even if the artist is possessed by divine talent because the writing is bound to be insufferable garbage full of bimbo fetishism.
You can pretty much search for japanese RPGM on this forum and almost certainly hit a game like. Monsinne is going to enter a very saturated market with a WIP game.

This dumbass almost only wrote "Bitch" for like 5 patches in a row (that took a couple of years to get out), the only thing that's drained is his bank account so now he's hustling to get some new project going to get the attention of new paypigs.
I would call him a scam artist but there's no art here.

All they had to do was write Noxian Nights again with original characters. That's what I've always wanted with KoD. Just a slow corruption/prostitution game, with Nomo's art, some gags in between, that's it.
Instead, they went with this stupid plot, "Oh, Sabia is not actually a slut, she just wants revenge", get the f*ck out of here. I wanted a full corruption game, eventually following along different races, not just orcs and humans. I mean, Neve is the hottest elf I've ever seen, I would have loved to see a corruption path for her too, just full sexual harassment and groping when she enters a human town.
You guys may not agree, but I don't mind. I think I speak for everyone here when I say all of the scenes in the game are pretty dogshit, except for some.

Why do a spin-off for a well loved abandoned game? [yes they said they will continue, but for now its shelfed] why not just make a new game? baffling. When people play the spinoff, players will just be reminded of kingdom of deception, and what it could have been.
But how could they continue KoD's story after what they did to it during those past years? The current state of Sabia's adventures seem unsalvageable.

Agreeable: but corruption to be really good need to have at least functional writing, or God forbid, even good writing, because I think no one enjoys the speedrun from Virgin Nun to Complete Slut in a single scene. it's the process, not the end result. KoD didn't have a corruption theme at the beginning, but Monsinne's bimbo fetishes bled through and essentially we got the "mindless broken slut" experience without any finesse for Sabia. Wasted potential all around.
On art, some scenes are quite good, almost professional-game tier. Nomo simply didn't give a fuck after a while.
So, imagine you have a Patreon still half-full of disposable goons that pay you good money and paid you for years despite your artist having gone MIA like it's Khe Sahn in 1968. You want the grift to continue but you can no longer recycle everything, so you piggyback on the corpse of the previous project ("re-used assets" lmao) to try to get all the goons you can on your next thing, and promise that EVENTUALLY MAYBE SOMEDAY people will get what they originally paid for.
My hat to Monsinne, everything for not getting a real job at the local cheese factory.
EDIT: Best of luck to their new artist though, he seems like a decent guy. Have not seen so many female demons/orcs with dicks since I've played Hedon, though.
