Noxian Night also had varied content and kept it's plot moving forward, also somehow the smaller cast in that game had more interactions with other characters than in this game if we scale by amount of content/dialogue.
I like this more than Noxian nights, tbh, because that setting didn't do anything for me, it was more porney in terms of writing and rpgm is annoying to use. Only liked Kat and minotaurs. But I'm kind of moving off from most weg games at this point because all of them have simmilar issues - they are poorly written, many don't have any walktroughs made by devs when they would be actually very useful if you actually want to play the game and not just rip pictures and annoyingly look up scene text in notepad, also no robust gallery modes and so on. At least for KoD there is JDMOD and his walkthrough. And KoD also has a problem of very sparse releases, which is true for some other wegs as well.
I liked the noblewoman getting fucked by orcs and somehow making it big in the tribe angle, also like lezdom content with Kira, Neve and that catgirl and some other stuff, but that's about it.
I could also add, that maybe Sierra was too ambitious with the writing, because it is hard to write intriguing political smut story even if you are just writing smut story alone, but here you have to make art and code VN/game for it. Noxian Nights was not that elaborate, even with Sierra at the helm, and she has her own VN, but that one is text based only, so it makes sense that writing is better as it is the focus. It's often hard to find thrilling erotica even on literotica, archive of our own or smut books.
For KoD issue is also varied tastes. I liked tent scenes, but does it make sense to bring them back? Maybe not, if Sabia is right that her working in them would be bad for her image, but on the other hand, it didn't stop her from becoming a member of tribe, even helped her. So maybe secrecy was not needed at all, and she could have used disguises in human lands while whoring there, or among other races - like minotaurs. So I feel like writing got aimless. Sex scenes themselves can be done well, like Kira and Neve lezdom are very well written as scenes, but overall story got aimless. I'm not good enough at story telling to suggest how to wrap it up quick and easier, shorter, maybe cutting out exploration of different regions. For example, what did Sabia achieve by getting some orcs and catgirls as her fighters, especially when she can't control them due to tribal politics? Either she should have been working to take over tribe outright or at least in some way that she can control it from behind scenes from the top (controlling warchief), otherwise there is little to be gained. I suppose it could work if you also add in minotaurs, elves, some humans and maybe other races and then build up large army to take over the human realm, but I just don't see story of that scale being made here. So it would have been better if it story was on smaller scale, Sabia only gathering individual allies and some magical weaponry or something to take revenge on her sister and maybe mom, stopping them from taking over human kingdom and brokering peace different races with her pussy and seductions skills, without this large scale army building we have been getting.
But at this point the game feels like it's just there to get patreon money so it's hard to say were it will go next. But it will be hard, because even something like Seeds of Chaos, that is both fairly well written, gets good amount of updates and moves along with the story at a good pace, still has many areas to cover yet, and for KoD I think the original vision will be too hard to reach.
