When it comes to allies though, is there a way to have them not hit you and vice versa with ranged attacks/spells?

This usually ends up with me sitting around waiting for my other ranged allies to try to finish the job for me, or it turns into musical chairs where I'm walking in and out of enemy range while swapping with my downed ally.
As far as I know...there is no way to have your allies not hit you with their attacks as I wondered the same thing where I had an Nevermere Trainer's Apprentice that kept spawning shock drones which while behind me shot shock balls out. While it is best to go ahead and stay out of their way for one time fights....in the end it's better long term if you actually get rid of them for an better ally since ones that do damage cost you faction reputation if they kill enemies instead of tie them up. (Shibari Witch OP for this as they only do binding attacks but are rare)
Got through the whole game up to the final boss... man was this a trench war. I took the easiest difficulty, +10 trait points, and even got a buggy immortal familiar companion that couldn't get tied or die, and blocked all the narrow ways from enemy hordes, yet this wasn't a complete breeze, mostly because i didn't understand that you ONLY get spell points from quests randomly, so i've beaten the game though shock spell and unlock spells...
Current final boss is such a funny bullshit fight, the whole game is. If only it was more diverse in quests and dialogues... It severely lacked them, which is why i wasn't interested in doing quests on every floore, they're pretty much just "beat the shit out of those guys".
Ah yeah...despite the game having a tutorial it doesn't explain anywhere near enough with one aspect being spell points...on every floor there should be 4 spell points up for grabs from non-quests I believe (or 3) one is the blue orb statue's which you take a goddess reputation hit from (10% unless you go random where it's then 9%.....still very harsh) and an chest with a blue symbol on it usually requiring an magic key to unlock. (sometimes linked to an faction)
Due to these ways your pretty much set up to go into negative reputation with all factions over time since the events or stuff you can do to gain reputation are tiny and get easily undone via one accident kill when your trying to capture an enemy. (killing instead of capturing enemies does an -0.25% reputation hit usually)
Additionally the stuff you can spend your spell points on can be extremely bad at telling you how useful or useless they are since there's no sandbox/try before you buy area in the game. Some quests also just aren't worthwhile like Elves debating Catgirls...since that's 10 enemies to fight unless you spend a good bit of time doing hit and run tactics against highly evasive enemies.
More mechanical variety would be nice, though I still don't really understand how to play the game, just kind of hoping for the best as I go along. A better explanation of how to progress in terms of getting stronger, how reputations actually work, and explaining why I would bother keeping restraints to use on enemies would be nice...
This added on to the previous quote is why I dislike how this game is `versioned` as with most games and wish that they mostly switched to the

since I played this game multiple times over the years (I think my earliest major version was either 2 or 3) the actual changes I think are more cosmetic/UI rather than game-play focused. (Also the tutorial being added) If you had played games like
Bondage College or other games also made by Ben987 you'll understand where the inspiration for this game came from and how it works alongside why it's so punishing feeling.
Thankfully on the

I've not yet gone through it all but have used it to get to quick information dumps on what I'm wondering about especially when looking at different locks and such.....I might try if I can get permission from the maker of the thread.
