You don't. I'm still on R8 because it still has a functioning plugins window that works for me. It also has KK Manager 0.21.4 that still has the install new mod option so some time between 0.21.4 and 1.3.1 the option was removed. If it's just a zipmod all you have to do is add it to your my mods folder anyway. Most plugins are just drag and drop to the game's root as well.

I'm not sure what you mean. Did you manually install a new version of KK Manager or are you talking about a mod? The Manager option to install a new mod does the exact same thing as just adding it your self. it's just drag and drop really so I don't see the need for the option anyway.
Any mods go in - *Game Folder*\mods\MyMods
Any plugins go in - *Game Folder*\BepInEx\plugins
Any patchers go in - *Game Folder*\BepInEx\patchers
That is all you need to do to ad anything to the game your self.

The background color in studio is just that, a screen effect color and not an actual item. If you want a colored background for the video you would probably need to add a plane with the color you want. That or you have video export set to transparent but that shouldn't matter.

is there a guide or a place to learn how to make good looking characters? I just want some basics since I always wanted to try the game but sometimes I mess with some of the modifiers and no change happens. I want to learn what to keep in mind just to get a basis.

Im always making some edits into differents cards. Im more with HS2 for characters edit. U should maybe watch some videos ;

The BP for sunshine is temperamental. It defaults to enabled but it is actually off, makes sense, right? In Better Penetration settings you have to uncheck/check use better penetration controllers for it to go strait but after that if you set it to an auto target it will always try to target that even if the controllers are off. It's actually very annoying.

For whatever reason I have a few cards where the height is different between clothing types. Its annoying as all fuck because if i edit the length etc adjust the legs for one the other is now floating. Re-adjusting to fix the floating one and the others legs are now randomly larger than they should be extending through the ground. I've fucked with the height stuff and bones etc but fixing one just fucks up the other, tried deleting the outfits but could only remove until 4 outfits remained and 2 of the 4 have fucked up larger and longer than should be legs. In the advanced bone edit thing plugin, hitting "revert" fixes it for a split second then reverts to fucked up it wasn't before either so I'm all the more confused how to fix it. They were a bitch and a half to design so id rather not have to delete and start over, but don't want every other outfit to have a needlessly larger lower body scale. Using the stiletto slider height thing works for at least fixing the "standing through the ground" issue, but doesn't fix the height and body shape differences, and trying to adjust the others to try and increase the scale to match the rest just makes the other 2 outfits have even larger ass/legs nothing I've thought of seems to work and I've noticed this issue on a few other peoples cards. Not using any custom skeleton or skin/overlays and 0 missing assets when loading the model. If anyone's had a similar issue or knows a solution I'd really appreciate it any input.
Drop the cards here - maybe someone could fiddle with it to see what's wrong.

So basically "Casual Clothes" and "Bathing" has the correct body scale and leg sizes, "Swimsuit" and "Pajamas" her lower body all scales up with the height staying the same just with her feet through the ground. If you edit her height on the Swimsuit or Pajamas, her legs are way smaller in casual or bathing. So the leg scale/size in Casual and Bathing is the correct size while the other two makes her ass/hips/thighs literally everything below the bellybutton larger. its also about 8.7cm taller but only because of the lower body.
basically just load her up, turn on the height measure thing for perspective, and then swap between casual/bathing to pajamas or swimsuit and watch her lower half slightly all get bigger. Can't figure out how to fix it, just going to start over from scratch.
