I am on day 86 and the option to upgrade the room (which leads to building the dungeon) did not trigger. Cannot find a reason for this occurring. What exactly is the trigger.

It should be overhearing the girls complaining about the bathroom at work. You then go to the business policies and pay the fee for the unisex bathroom remodel. (I have had some playthroughs that overhearing the girls seemed to take longer than others.)
Then you can do your room. After your room, you can then do mom's, sister's, bathroom, dungeon. For the big harem remodel, you need at least one girlfriend that agreed to the polyamory relationship.

Tried a few times at different time of day but can't find event trigger.

This seems to be broken at present.

I don't know if this is already known, but if you open preferences from the main menu and right click to close them, you immediately start a new game. And that game has initialization issues so time doesn't pass, there's no random characters in the areas, and loading a save shows an error.

Also, a tutorial on policies says you have to hover to see description and click to implement, but it's actually click for description and confirm to implement (and the same screen misspells "category").

I'm new, but I'd assume it's for the duration of the drug.

Cheating in more energy than the game normally allows (5000 as opposed to, say, 300) automatically resets back to 300 after a day. Even if you increase max energy as well. It's not a major problem, nor is it something that even comes up in normal play, but it is annoying to deal with when you just want to mess around. Thought you ought to know.

Doing couples of clicks over again and again each after sex, talking, and whatever drains your energy can get tiring real fast.

Let's be real, the search function on this forum is dogshit. And the way you're supposed to gain ownership of the strip club is notorious for simply not working.

I guess I should actually answer the question. Wait until your aunt and cousin move out, then catch your cousin trying to steal from your sister. Blackmail her into finding out she's stripping and promise not to tell your aunt. Eventually you're suppose to be able to tell your aunt, but I've never gotten the prompt to do so, so I suspect you can't have employed her at that point. Then apparently... stuff happens? and your aunt can strip, and the strip club closes down and you can buy it.

I don't know how the last few steps work because I can't get them to trigger.

I believe it is also now tied to Starbuck's sexshop, do not remember the details though (think you need to get her slutty enough?) I know the offer to purchase (from the bank several [weeks]? after it shuts down) initially goes to Starbuck who forwards it to you...

I remember in an earlier playthrough I got the prompt to tell the aunt.. but I was always fast forwarding and did not notice what happened after.. but in that playthrough the sexshop owner also had 100 sluttiness but the game pace was set to the worst setting. In my new play through it is the fastest.. so I will wait. Thanks for the answer !

As mentioned earlier the search function is extremely poor always has been. The explanation previously as highlighted does not explain how to get control of the strip club it does not give a guide only hints at what may work as the triggers are so inconsistent. I have never been able to trigger it in all the playthroughs about one hundred since the mod started and have been at the blackmail part at least twenty times so I cannot even give a guild either. If you can go on discord, you may get a decent answer from one of the main devs I personally can't use discord or rather will not use it for security reasons.

It would be nice for "somebody" to summarize all the questlines and event triggering actions. Right now, any new player has to start reading the whole original game thread, plus this one from the very beginning.
Concerning the strip club, talking by memory, it's started by investing in the sex-shop until maxed out. I'm not sure if Gabrielle's blackmailing event (wich is started quite after they move from your house) has to be already started, but better be safe than sorry.

It really doesn't matter. Once the club location is accesible, just focus on investing.

You guys are really shooting yourselves in the foot by not "exploring" what the game has to offer

I don't think the Cousin/Aunt are *needed* for starting the strip club acquisition events. Their story arc is a way to "find" the strip club if you haven't already found it. (Cousin staying out late and Aunt is worried) I've stumbled across the strip club before they even entered the picture simply by walking around downtown a few times.

I believe the strip club acquisition is tied strongly to developing the sex shop's story. You have to get Cara's business back on track so she's making a profit. Story wise, this makes sense 'cause she was in the red until you invested in her and helped her store get on its feet. That's when her banker starts respecting her business and suggests she buy the abandoned strip club.

I *think* you do want to discover your cousin at the strip club as well for story fluidity sake since you'll be asking her to call up her ex-colleagues as part of the strip club acquisition when you're restaffing the place.

tldr I don't think you can really get locked out of this chain of events but just make sure you're progressing Cara's story and your Cousin/Aunt's story.
