The game got a tutorial that you follow to get your first serums up and running so the way you describe the play tells me you never even tried to play this game. There is no one way to play just start the game follow what the tutorial tells you then do what you want from there on.
Make money and get all the girls for your harem that you want with or with out using any serums.
Tutorial: make serum.. profit.
is that a tutorial to you? Like I literally went with the introduction, went to the part where I see the Stephanie, then I'm lost cause it didn't mention anything or even show like "hey go here" like a normal tutorial

You should have gone to the production room to finish up that part of the tutorial and then on to the office for the supply side.
It tells you in game what to do next but if you skip over it then that's on you.

If you want more guidance than the tutorial and in-game info give you I've written a couple guides and a week one walkthrough of sorts. They're posted in the OP
So I've seen in the thread for the modded version of LR2 that you don't really play that version of the game, but I was wondering if any of the guides that you've posted here would be viable in the modded version?

Its the same game just more content added to it.
So yes the guides here will work for the modded version as well.

Appreciate the clarification(y)

EDIT: I'm also curious if you have an answer for another problem I'm having. So I'm on early morning Thursday of week one and I have Jennifer's Slutiness at 18 and according to the guide, after having her drink the serum from the box that she found, there's an event that's supposed to trigger in her room after that where she says she's stressed but I haven't seen it yet. Am I missing anything or has the placement of that event been moved or something?

That's later in the game and may have been move to the kitchen after she gets off work.
At least I don't remember one in the first week but there could be, I spend the first week getting production set up and making money.

Thank you kindly for the help. Guess I'll just have to wait and see when it shows up.

Yeah, the modders have mucked with the vanilla events a lot and put time locks on some events and hard locks between the taboo breaks because they don't think the women are reacting realistically enough in their date-rape harassment-enabling miracle drug czar game. If you're playing Reformulated my taboo break guide will probably be more-or-less accurate about which tasks you need to take to break a taboo, but you won't have the freedom you had in the vanilla game to break whichever taboo you wanted in any order. And the first week walkthrough will almost certainly not run as efficiently due to changes in some mechanics and the aforementioned event changes

As for that specific event, in vanilla it fires at or over 15 sluttiness upon speaking to her anywhere (not only her room) aside from the dialog you get automatically when you ask to see her at work. I use that exception to eke out a few more points of sluttiness then say goodbye and immediately chat again to trigger it in the morning slot sometimes. The reason I suggest speaking to her in her room immediately that early morning is because the serum will wear off at or before lunchtime so its easier to do it in the early morning than describing my more detailed method. If it didn't trigger in her room that early morning and she's still over 15 sluttiness after the serum wears off and it's still not triggering then it has been changed, probably in one of the ways a1fox3 speculated. You're better off asking in the Reformulated thread whenever anything doesn't behave as I described because someone there will likely look the event code up and tell you its new triggers. I dislike the mod and the modders' decisions and changes but it has good community members and they have kept the game going. Can't fault them for that. The AI mod in particular looks v cool and I bet Vren would have been so stoked if he saw its potential

Yea I've done a few playthroughs of the first week just to try out different combinations of things and see what's what with the game mechanics and such, but I must say it is extremely disappointing that certain events are hard locked behind taboo breaks like having to do anal with Lily before unlocking vaginal sex. I don't have too much of a problem with doing that but it seems counterintuitive to what the serums are there for in the first place and that's literally the CORE gameplay mechanic.

I definitely noticed a few changes in Reformulated from what was explained in your first week walkthrough like being unable to set work duties on the first or being restricted from starting towards contracts until you've developed your first serum. All in all, there's things that I love and things that are more than questionable gameplaywise but it's still enjoyable despite this. I'm just glad I finally got around to playing this game and can't say I'm disappointed. I might have to try out the vanilla game soon though just to see what that's like. Who knows, I might end up liking the vanilla game better than Reformulated.

No serums needed for any of the girls to have sex with MC it just takes time and wine and dine them with a movie or two.

I only use serums if the story needs it to be done.

I ignore most story-stuff until i have some better traits researched
there are multiple (countless) conditions that may or may not fire when an event happen

I'm hate all these taboo breaks with your family events in the remake - if certain things don't match, you have to do additional stuff, or some of the taboos are restored, along with a reset (or at least decrease) in slutiness - the later being hard to fix without certain potion traits.

Lunch, movie and then dinner dates and no serums are needed.
Yes it might take a few more days to get in the family pants but its well worth it in my games.
I only use serums for the story if it requires it to move that story forward.
Lilly has one and I only use Happy/Suggest and I make sure there is no flaws in the serums and that's all you need.
Once you get love up around 35-40 sluttiness is no longer a problem to get and maintain and grow fast.

A consistent story is hard to write (and code in a sandbox!). Rather than making the hard choice of attempting to cover as many routes/options/player choices as possible, the devs/modder chose to lock routes instead to focus into one (I am not counting the 3 dialogue options to break a taboo). It is a bit annoying, but honestly, I understand. Maybe one day they will find a middle ground, and enable some alternative story routes. But even that seems difficult: the effort put into the story tracker already speaks volume about the complexity of the game.

I mean I'm not saying you have to use the serums to have sex with any of the girls, but I'm sure in a moment of uninformed realization there are players out there who stopped playing because they might've gotten stuck thinking that it was serums or nothing at all. Fortunately that wasn't the case with me. Apologies if this message is off topic or it seems like I'm rambling, this is just where my train of thought went after reading your comment.

Yes, serums are no longer as necessary as they once were to raise a woman's sluttiness and keep it high. But the premise of Lab Rats 1 and 2 has always been about using your discovery of the serums to corrupt the women around you and take advantage of their increased receptiveness to your advances, and anyone who argues the contrary is being disingenuous. At one point in its development Vren removed the mechanics of "temporary sluttiness," which required a woman be serumed up with suggestibility in order to more readily convert it into permanent sluttiness. I believe he did that because a lot of players cba to learn how temp sluttiness worked and complained that none of the women were sexable. So now we have much more easily, conventionally seducible women in the game; meaning many players (still) don't bother with serums aside from the business because now they're more hassle than they believe they're worth, and that's okay. And many don't even bother for the business because they can console themselves as much cash as they want, and that's still okay

I disliked the change, but it was Vren's game and his prerogative to change it. I have considered re-adding the mechanic in my own personal build since I liked the challenge and felt it was closer to the original premise, which is just my jam. But that's neither here nor there. What Vren did DID open the game up to more players and increased the available options for players who have a distaste for the date-rape drug angle or are otherwise not interested in drug-based corruption as a porn trope. I will always support more options
