did you create a backup folder with an older release of the game or atleast edited some script files and kept a backup of the original files inside the game folder?
cause that seems to be pretty much the case and reason for your error

cheats don't seem to work no more. That or i'm fucking up.

you don't even need ingame cheats... you can edit the "script.rpy" in \LabRats\game folder and change the starteing parameters.... like money and potions

you can just take a look in the scripts in the game folder with any text editor... by reading you can figure out or edit the requirements for everything
