No, it was just an example. And I'm not talking about bad or unfunny jokes
90% of conversations are just stupid, like no one would ever discuss something the characters discuss or have given reactions on given situations
ah I see probably something id never notice tbh haha I don't think too deeply about what is said or written beyond the context of the scene.

The game had a great start. It looks great visually and has an interesting story so far, which isn't surprising as I thought the entrepreneur was a good looking game as well. My only two problems are Lana and the situation with Caroline. Bro could have made Lana start with black hair and then dye it pink to be different if he really wanted to change her. Lana went from the best looking to the worst looking LI in the game which sort of sucks as she was my 2nd favorite, but at least that narrows down which LI to pick by 1. The whole situation with Caroline and the MC makes no sense to me tho.

With that being said it's a game and I won't like them all, but it doesn't bother me too much cuz I wasn't interested in Caroline from the beginning. It just doesn't make much sense to me. Rose is great tho and Taylor or Olive could be interesting. The mock trial is also cool and I like the little rivalry with Mike.

I'm going to go back and replay this episode in a few days, but so far I'm kind of on the fence about what I think. I feel like most of it was great, but then there were some jarring things that made feel kind of meh about it.

- MC is just too perfect in everything
- He really wants to be able to spend his nights in the library. I mean he REALLY wants to, to the point that I think he wants it more than being a lawyer
- Some of the dialogue and the characters are quite childish and it doesn't fit neither their age nor the setting
- Lana's hair change
- Aurora and especially Andrea are just insufferable. I can see where those storylines are eventually going to lead, but it just feels extremely childish and tropey
- Speaking of tropes, there is a whole lot of it here and in quite a few cases it's turned to the maximum
- Freeroam. Do I need to say more? I appreciate the fact that we can skip it, but I can't see any benefit in including it in the first place

I'd still rate the episode like a 3.5/5, but I'm going to be honest, after the dev's previous game I expected a bit more especially on the writing front.

BUT I'm not one of them, and just cuz I want to have a few options to decide how the story plays out, it only means that I want to have the possibility to make the right or wrong choices. It's how games, AAA games included, are usually designed to be and what makes them fun to play.
Here's my legitimate question to you. Is it a realistic expectation for you to have for a game on Patreon with 239 patrons to be like AAA games with their wider variety of choices? This is not to mention that even AAA games still have pre-determined linear outcome following those choices and not necessarily able to fulfill everyone's preferred outcome. Plus the fact that not all AAA games have tons of choices either. There are linear AAA games that work fine without the players having to demand choices to alter the game.

The fact that someone is a cold-hearted killer in GTA, Mortal Kombat, or whatever other game, doesn't mean that they're the same type of ppl IRL too. This is fiction, you do here what you ain't allowed by law, logic and morals to do IRL, no self-insertion required for this.
I agree that this is fiction. But here's another legitimate question to you. Why is it so difficult for you to accept the fictional MC to not behave like what you thought he should've? Why is it easy to accept cold-hearted killers but hard to accept a pacifist? They are both equally fictional and consistent with the characterization of the characters. The answer is simply that you want the cold-blooded killer and MC to behave in a certain way that you would've had you been in this fictional setting and only one of them fit that.

doesn't mean that they're the same type of ppl IRL too.
Just to be clear, self-insert doesn't mean the fictional character is the same type of people IRL. It's the other way around. It's IRL people inserting themselves into fictional setting. That's what those AAA games with tons of choices try to do, to give the player the feeling that they are the main character of the game. Create the look of your character, choose the character's class, choose the skills, choose the options you want, shape how the story goes as to how you want it to be. Roleplay as that character. Pretend you are that character. Self-insert yourself into that character. That's what you like.

Actually no, it's just that her character screams femdom from the top of her lungs, and I'd personally prefer something like this was completely optional and avoidable. A matter of tastes and preferences, you know ?? It's why I said we need a few important choices on how the MC reacts in certain situations and to certain characters like Caroline, Andrea, or Jessica. A cosmic bitch slap or two followed by a barrage of insults for Jessica's crazy ass like the Tyballs slow-mo punch would be a pretty funny and satisfying fan service moment, IMO.
I understand it's personal preference, but IMO, personal preference feedback is almost meaningless because you can't satisfy everyone's personal preference. Sure MC could give cosmic bitch slap or two followed by a barrage of insults for Jessica's crazy ass like the Tyballs slow-mo punch as you prefer, but that wouldn't be the same MC as what the dev wanted to create anymore, right? Like I said before, dev is writing MC's story. You're writing your story even if you claim to not self-insert.

In this type of situation, I wouldn't consider my 'ally' a person who has dirt on me that could get me fired from my job and whose promise is the only thing that stops them from ruining my and my GF's future.
So what exactly would change if MC confronted Caroline? MC is still "a person who has dirt on me that could get me fired from my job and whose promise is the only thing that stops them from ruining my and my GF's future" because that's a fact that can't be changed. What changed is the relationship between the two. Not confronting Caroline keeps the relationship peaceful and it gave her the idea that they could both benefit by keeping each other's promise. Confronting Caroline would make the relationship hostile. What benefit do you think MC would get by making the relationship hostile?

Yes, it is, having a few choices on how the MC acts and how some scenes unfold aren't an unrealistic expectation that would require a lot of effort to be coded into the game, it's something most players expect to have. I never demanded anything, that's what you misinterpreted from my post, I only asked for a few more choices on how some things, like Andrea's 'blackmail' and the Caroline incident, play out and how the MC deals with them.

Why is it so difficult for you to accept the fictional MC to not behave like what you thought he should've? Why is it easy to accept cold-hearted killers but hard to accept a pacifist? They are both equally fictional and consistent with the characterization of the characters.
What is it with you and this 'pacifist' argument in a game about top lawyers, of all places ??:WaitWhat: You think real-life lawyers are a bunch of pussy ass 'pacifists' too afraid to defend their opinion and clients in court ?? Cuz I'm pretty sure lawyers are as aggressive, smart and wicked-tongued in court as sharks are in water, and need I remind you that our so-called 'pacifist' wants to be the best of them ?? Can you even imagine a wimpy dork defending his client against an ambitious, smart and talented lawyer like Mike in a complicated criminal case ??

Who'd you want to defend you, knowing your freedom and reputation are at stake ?? An ambitious genius willing to do anything for his clients like Mike or a wannabe pacifist too afraid to stand up to a dumb bitch like the MC was when dealing with Caroline's shitty attitude, cuz I know I'd pick Mike in every possible scenario for all the obvious and logical reasons, but that's me.

Just to be clear, self-insert doesn't mean the fictional character is the same type of people IRL. It's the other way around. It's IRL people inserting themselves into fictional setting. That's what those AAA games with tons of choices try to do, to give the player the feeling that they are the main character of the game.
Lol, just bcz you can customize a character's appearance doesn't mean that you're forced to self-insert yourself as that character, dude... you reading too much into it. I say this cuz I usually give those type of MCs a lot of funny 'personal touches' for the heck of it, not bcz I look anything like them, and if self-insertion was the main reason to why some games allow the player to do this, shouldn't they be asking them to take a selfie and customize the characters based on it or something ??

You should learn the difference between having tastes and preferences to customize/influence story-related things and actual self-inserting, cuz, speaking for myself, I don't do this too often, since most MCs, at least 8/10, are complete spineless, awkward, beta idiots doing creepy shit like molesting their female relatives and being too afraid to talk to an attractive woman. I fail to see why anyone would want to self-insert themselves as one of those MCs, and it's why I think the whole 'self-inserting too much' argument is a subjective lie.:WaitWhat:o_O

personal preference feedback is almost meaningless because you can't satisfy everyone's personal preference.
The dev did a few mistakes we already pointed out to him. The reasonable thing to do is to correct them and do better in the next updates. If he intends to write a 'pacifistic' MC who wants to be the best lawyer in this game's fictional country and sound believable in his approach too, he should understand that most lawyers who're at the top act and sound like Mike, not like the MC. I understand that they're probably supposed to be the two faces of the same coin or some shit like that, but letting the player choose how his MC acts, bold/dominant or pacifistic/submissive/whatever, is something most players expect to get when they see a charisma and an intelligence stat and other stuff like that.

I don't have anything against your preference for MC's current approach when dealing with Caroline, but I personally find it ridiculous that a supposedly smart, calculated guy like him, who fancies himself to be the next big shot lawyer, wouldn't use her lil fling to his advantage to get that after-hour access to the library he rambled so much about that it bored and annoyed a lot of us, convince her to put a good word to the dean for them on the housing situation, and/or simply convince her she owes him a favor if she want him to keep her secret.

Now, realistically speaking, there's no actual blackmail scenario here, cuz even using this word to describe that ridiculous incident sounds funny, stupid and ridiculous at the same time for the simple reason that the MC has no actual proof to prove it. It's his word, a stranger the dean only talked to a few times, against Caroline's, a respected college professor whom the dean knows for years and is probably friends with too. Her sudden empty threats and shitty, arrogant attitude toward him don't make any sense, unless this wasn't the first time she got caught in a compromising situation with a colleague.

This is just speculation on my part, so whether it's true or not remains to be seen in the next updates, but I still think MisterMaya should let us the players decide how to act in certain situations with certain characters in order to avoid things like some of the stuff that happened in the story and that didn't make sense.

So what exactly would change if MC confronted Caroline?
What changed is the relationship between the two. Not confronting Caroline keeps the relationship peaceful and it gave her the idea that they could both benefit by keeping each other's promise. Confronting Caroline would make the relationship hostile. What benefit do you think MC would get by making the relationship hostile?
Again with the 'pacifist' argument ?? You really like your MC's act submissive, don't ya ??:p Well, you do you man, but like I already said, top lawyers ain't submissive pussies in situations like that cuz they hold the power of the law in their hands. Caroline's a plain stupid, arrogant and disrespectful bitch who pretends to love and care about Selena, while her actions contradict what she says, like another user pointed out, but her being hostile toward the MC would only harm herself, not him. Shutting our brains down and accepting porn 'logic' as the only type of logic here specifically shows us the MC has all the power and advantages over her, with only a few things at risk, while she has everything to lose and almost nothing to win out of this hostile situation.

I didn't say he should punch or rape her, ffs, BUT she needs to learn her place. Most men IRL wouldn't let some sexually frustrated bitch talk to and treat them like Caroline treated the MC, cuz they ain't submissive, horny Selenas, so again, I fail to see why having other options to choose from, when there's stats hinting at this, is a bad thing, but guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this again and let Mister Maya show us what he thinks of our feedback.

Once again, people who aren't even supporting the dev are crying about how the game should be written. This site never fails to amuse me.
Do you have to pay for a whole process of movie making in order to say the movie is bad or good?
What will never stop amuse me is how some people here think that being a patreon subscriber is mandatory in order to have an opinion.
Outstanding move.

When the MC is talking to Will he says: "Well, we may have kissed. But seriously, it was nothing". There was no kiss as Taylor is not LI interest of mine. No big deal but I think it was worth mentioning in case it's a mistake or wasn't noticed when testing.

Crying about a character changing their hair is an opinion now?

I'm convinced you ALWAYS support devs financially before you tell ppl to stop talking about their games and share their thoughts and impressions on them, the one and only thing this forum encourages its users to do, but everyone has the right to have their own opinions and to express them, it's how freedom of speech works, according to the dictionary.:WeSmart:

Sorry to disappoint you, but you have exactly 0 authority to tell anyone here what to do. Don't like what I or anyone else here posts, fine by me, just reply back, ignore, or report their posts to the mods, if you are offended by them for some reason, but complaining about some ppl's complaints only shows that you're getting unreasonably defensive over something only the dev can change if they want to.

What will never stop amuse me is how some people here think that being a patreon subscriber is mandatory in order to have an opinion.
Outstanding move.
Gotta love the internet and communist censorship, right ?? Seems like nowadays, we've progressed sooo much as a society, you can't even talk freely anymore without the fear of repercussions anywhere, not even on porn game forums, smh.:cautious:

Crying about a character changing their hair is an opinion now?
Yes, it is. Personal preferences aside, I don't think this is that bad of a problem either, but like I said, ppl have the right to express their opinions and you have the right to ignore their posts if you don't agree with them or feel offended by something they posted. It's the mature, reasonable thing to do, IMHO.

some walktrough would be apreciate, some mini games have actual law based questions, hell we all can answer some of them but not all and they unlock special renders and is annoying to google stuff about those questions

other than that, the game seams nice and hope it will get updates and not another abandoned good game :)

I know that at some point on different paths (far end of the "selfness" spectrum) to pursue some girls will be locked, however I don't know if you can have harem path with some girls.

But seeing how Dev's last game didn't have it, I am assuming this wouldn't have it either.

Guys chill out about Lana's hair, somebody asked Dev(MM) in discord and MM said he/she will look into it. Instead of fighting eachother on what's right or wrong, maybe give a suggestion to Dev or ask the Dev, most of the time you will get a response.

I'm going to go back and replay this episode in a few days, but so far I'm kind of on the fence about what I think. I feel like most of it was great, but then there were some jarring things that made feel kind of meh about it.

Not going to argue as mostly I have the same opinion.

I personally never liked freeroaming straightforward games. These games have a linear story. Than we get a freeroaming part where ou have to clikc on everything in a given order to advance in the linear stroyline, since there are no different routes. Like we could have got this content without the freeroaming part too. Te difference it made was it took 2 extra minutes to go through it.

90% of these games have free roaming without any good reason, most of the are just time wasting without influencing the story at all. The only game which come to mind now and freeroaming is acceptable is BaDIK and even there it feels like time wasting too.
DEVs should decide that they want to make a sandbox game or a visual novel.
No offense againts any DEVs I get the idea of them trying new things, but freeroaming in a VN isn't it for me.

But agree other than the childish text this game has potential to be good.
Edit: But I have to say this is one of the small amount games which I read through from start to finish in one go. It is rare for me to that to any game yet this DEV succesfully did it with both if the games.
Before anybody asks there are a lot of game where I simply skip through part of the story as I either don't care about that charater or the story.
